Comments Thread For: Hrgovic Promoter Sauerland Says Usyk Showed 'Signs of Slowing' Against Dubois

Filip Hrgovic could be in position to catch Oleksandr Usyk on the decline, at least according to Hrgovic's own promoter. Last Saturday night, Usyk, the unified WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO heavyweight champion, stopped mandatory challenger Daniel

Hrgovic is so awful that he will never get the opportunity to look as if he has aged.

Usyk definitely didn't seem as nimble. Could be age and could also be the circumstances. A quasi-hometown fight in front of his countrymen in an outdoor arena with driving rain and wet ring canvas.

At 36, it's only natural for some agility and reflex to fade with age. He showed visible reaction to body shots and was lobbying the ref hard that every one was a low blow even when they weren't.

Sure, but Hrgovic looked like backwash against McKean, so... I'd take Usyk on this one.

Usyk can slow down to 30% and beat Hrgovic

While I think Hrgovic is not great, he can take punishment. Zhang was beating him pillar to post, knocked him down, and he kept going. If Hrgovic was smart, he would jump on Usyk from the first round and pressure him all night to the stomach. The game plan is right there...Usyk is soft in the stomach. I do not see Usyk stopping or beating Hrgovic...

Hrgovic and Dubious are almost exact opposites, Hrgovic has good fundamentals, but is as stiff as a board, whereas Dubious is quite fluid, but is technically lacking.
