It really wasn’t. That’s why there’s a big controversy with many non invested pro fighters saying it was a clean shot. Only pro fighter I’ve seen deem it was a low blow is Tony bellew who has a personal investment in saying so as to make his loss vs usyk seem less embarrassing. This would seem less the case if it wasn’t known that usyk can’t take body shots. Low blows are set by the ref in the last minute instructions before the fight, in the ring, not by any phantom standard. The ref clearly told both fighters the beltline was the line. Anything below the beltline was low. Both fighters nodded and understood with their trainers right behind them. Dubois was warned once earlier. His punch, without any malice, strayed low and hit flush below the point the ref said will be called low. Period. I am lost to why people are so lost about why it was called low.
