He was a really good fighter, not great but really good. Could have beaten other good fighters but I think a great fighter would beat Calzaghe.

He out-hustled an OLD Hopkins. Same reason why Hopkins lost to Taylor. Hopkins started to wait for rounds to go by before he picked up the pace. That happens with aging fighters.
Hopkins had been on the decline stamina wise for years. Not to say Calzaghe was at his peak either, but it would have been interesting if you could at least take the two at the same age (of where Clazaghe was) if you couldn't get them in their prime.

Either way...I've always maintained that it was not Calzaghe's fault for not getting the Hopkins fight sooner....that's on Hopkins for not moving up. Of course, I do put blame on Calzaghe for not moving up to fight a Prime Roy Jones Jr. either.

They weren't "Great" by the time Joe got to them. They were just "names."

This chump again? The last 'article' I read from this guy was a profoundly idiotic piece on Manny Pacquiao. I can't decide what this guy knows less about; boxing or journalism.

So a 'name' destroyed the current middleweight king?
