I look at it realistically hand problems come with the territory. People feed too much into the excuses. Speaking of Ortiz, I bet his hands wasn't hurting him, when Ortiz had his hands by his sides and got two pieced.

same punch now caves in a SMW champion's face

      ending his career

Its not like Saunders was rocked or hit the floor or anything. He just dipped into the shot and it caused an injury.

There was at no point in the fight where Saunders was really rocked or ever going to hit the canvas, so it's not like he was bothered so much by the power that it scrambled his senses. He still fought the rest of the round and his legs were there.

Impact injuries could happen if someome lands in the perfect spot as someone dips into it, it wouldn't even need to be an extremely hard shot.

Look at Brook v GGG, the eye injury was caused by jab. GGG hit Brook with much bigger shots in the fight and he took them without being too shook up, but that jab just caught his orbital bone right and it went.

So these impact injuries are just something that can happen if it lands. I wouldn't say Cotto had phenomenal power, he was a solid puncher but he broke Paulie's orbital bone.

It just has to land right.

Well Pac broke Shane's cheek, does that mean he had better power than both?

Oscar and Shane both said Floyd/Manny had about the same power, hard to believe but they wasnt forced to say it, I think a lot is how it felt on the night which has a lot to do with the shape youre in at the time, Mosley came of 2 KOs fighting Floyd and a loss and draw fighting Manny, Oscar was dead man walking with Manny and was 17lbs heavier with Floyd, its got to translate into how their power felt.

Speaking of Shane Mosley. Shout out to that Bro, who gave us some barnburners until he couldn't no more.

When he beat Oscar and was on top, he was undefeated, could have ducked Vernon Forrest, who was all wrong for him stylewise; plus beat him in the amatuers, he made the 2 fights with him and took both those L's and came back. Same with Winky Wright at 154. He could have swerved Wright as well.

Who can forget how he had prime undefeated Cotto in retreat down the stretch in that fight.

They don't make em like that guy anymore.

“That’s why people weren’t just running in.”
Valid point. Second fight, even Maidana had to tone it down in the second half.

Victor Ortiz is the only one who just kept going in...and got two-pieced for his troubles.
