Same goes with Shane and Williams, Williams is too much of a risk at his age.
    But it's a risk/reward relationship.

Question: If Shane could make $10 mil fighting Williams, would he take the fight?

        Your guess is less-than-lucky.

Would you have liked to have seen Mosley-Williams this year, for example?

and, by the way, it is never an argument from my POV. I discuss, not argue.
        Why?

Yes, I'd love to see SSM vs. PW, but it's not because I used their ticket/ppv sales as measure of whether or not the fight should be made, but because I know it would be a great fight. If not great, an entertaining one at least.

It may be as much of a Joke as mayweather marquez given that the welterweights have a significant size strength and weight advantage. I would also go as far as to say they probably are more intelligent and better skilled fighters since the WW division is loaded wth adversity unlike super bantamweight. BUT your references to cotto margarito and pacquiao marquez are irrelevant. It sounds as if you were reaching toward your nationalistic side.

Margaritos recent KO wins are all clouded in su****ion now that he has been caught trying to gain an unfair advantage AND once it was stripped he seemed out of his element says a lot about the cotto margarito fight. As for the Marquez Pacquiao I totally agree that marquez won BUT marquez never proved himself above 140 like pacquiao has so this fight actually makes a **** ton more sense than any fight other than

          Cotto vs Mayweather

Yeah, but RS didn't say "Shane , you need to take this fight" because the money wasn't there. If the money was there, your appetite for the fight would have been satisfied....and Shane's coffers would fill appropriately.

I think risk plays a larger factor than reward.

TO answer your question I think shane just wants to be recognized as the best even though he has a loss to Cotto, If Williams was in Mayweathers seat as being claimed the "P4P" he would take Williams for 500000 dollars. The media plays too harsh of a role in trying to have a boxing brand name fighter , which they elected mayweather for his in your face shock value "******" attitude. The guy is pure Hollywood. Shane is too humble to be recognized even though is roots as a fighter run farther and deeper.

I wish P4P never existed and that there was only 1 belt per division. That way the best have to fight the best

                astute point.

After the mayweather-marquez fight, the betting line quickly tightened on Pac-Cotto. one of two things happened: the size disparity woke some people up, or some bloom came off Pac's rose. Most likely the former.

Roach has been, um, "smart" about picking opponents. FR seems to feel that Cotto has lost some. And , in truth, when i tally it up....Migs has taken a lot of shots.

Shane said he was interested in three opponents: May, Pac or hatton.

                  Seriously.

That isn't a thirst for acclaim. That is a straight paper chase.
