Why should I care how much tickets or PPV sales they do? We all know this is going to be an exciting fight without a doubt. So, bicker now? /end
Pacquiao - Cotto tickets : NOT SELLING WELL

For example, Williams calls out Shane, but Shane doesn't view Williams as a big enough commercial entity. Shane calls out Floyd, but Floyd doesn't think that SM has a fan base.
Malignaggi can't get the fights he wants because he doesn't have the momentum of a fanbase.
So, as a boxing fan, you often are frustrated by not getting the key matchups that you would like.
That, my friend, is why things like PPV sales and ticket sales are important.Comment

I hope that Cotto-Pacquiao fills every seat in the arena, and does huge business on PPV. That is the best thing for the sport....and will ensure that HBO puts pressure on the rival promoters to work out their differences to make a Floyd-Pacquiao* fight.
* assuming Pac wins.Comment

maybe because Arum is 78 years old, and now is willing to do the kinds of things he didn't in the past.
Or perhaps he won't repeat the mistakes he made with Oscar and Floyd. He wants to milk his money machines.Comment

Well, Mike, what is the principal reason that fights are made..or not made? Money.

The ticket/ppv sales should only matter to people who are involved of promoting process, and i'm going to take a lucky guess and say that you are not.
You my friend, are one of us. So just be glad Pac has the balls to even make this fight happen. We're all winners comes Nov 14.Comment

What's the argument really about? That because the seats aren't completely sold out that the fight being credible is at stake? Dude, the moment this match was even rumored people were already anticipating it.

Your guess is less-than-lucky.
Would you have liked to have seen Mosley-Williams this year, for example?
and, by the way, it is never an argument from my POV. I discuss, not argue.Comment

Same goes with Shane and Williams, Williams is too much of a risk at his age.Comment
