Even though Canelo has fought at higher weights Charlo is bigger! Every fighter Canelo fought at 168 has been bigger because it's not his natural weight class. And Charlo moving up is no different. He's bigger. 160 or 168 would be a more natural weight class for Charlo because of his height. His brother is the same size and he's been at 160 and was about to go to 168.

If you are a taller fighter, you will most likely be in a higher weight class. Some fighters shrink down in lower weight classes. Doesn't matter. A average super middleweight is 6' and up. It doesn't matter how many ****** people don't understand this lol. That's why all the heavyweights are well over 6 ft. There are limited exceptions. LeBron James and Kevin Durant would both be in the heavyweight division lol.

To add on to your point here, there's more to weight classes than just height and reach. Size of frame matters. Density of bone and muscle matters. Look at Sebastian Fundora. He's 6'5.5". By the height and reach metric only, you'd think he should fight in the heavyweight division, but he'd get killed there.

I do think people are being a little absurd calling Charlo the smaller man though.
