You gotta give Charlo props for making 14 pounds jump win or lose.

Boxing has weight divisions. Not height divisions. If you believe Teo, Devin, Shakur, and Ryan Garcia are the same size as Canelo then you are an absolute moron.Comment

He talked about the Bivol fight after his pressers in NY and LA.Comment

Yeah, the fight with Mell won't add to the body of work that will get him into the Hall. The Benavides fight is what we all want to see. That's the one.Comment

No worries,Saul will fight the winner of Benavidez Andrade .There’s no guarantee it’s going to be Benavidez!Comment

Plant is a mover too. And Canelo is a primarily a counterpuncher. That's a great style for a come forward fighter like Benavidez. Benavidez needs to be able to get off his combos, and if he's getting cracked when he does, it's not going to look like his usual fight. Think about why it didn't work on Bivol. It's not because Bivol is a mover. It's because he has elite timing and ring awareness. He was able to blind Canelo and Zurdo both with a quick off tempo combo any time he got near the ropes, and he was able to fight on the front foot against both of them at times too. Very different style from Andrade or Benavidez. My Take:
A lot depends upon which Canelo shows up. I don't think Canelo lost a step but I have noticed that when Canelo fights movers, plan A has no head movement, no angles, just walk in with a high guard and **** it out. "Walk'em down" worked on Plant but not on Bivol. "Walkem down" will never work against a mover like Andrade or killer like Benavidez. Can you see where I'm going with this?
Why do you think that happened in #2?
As for Charlo, I realize that in Castino #I Brian was able to sit in the pocket and bully the bully but in Castano #II, the pocket turned into a kill zone but how does that play out with a stronger faster Canelo? The question in my mind for Canelo is if the high guard "walk'em down" looks like a rerun of Bivol, can Canelo get back to his imitation of Floyd with head movement, sharp counters and angles on the inside?
Wasn't Canelo's fault. JERMALL Charlo was the one who's pulled out last minute. And Charlo is bigger than Canelo. It's amazing he can boil down to 154. It's also not Canelo's fault that the WBC and WBA are terrible about enforcing their own rules. They're like that with many other boxers as well. For the record, I don't like the way this fight came about:
It's kind of shyty that Canelo got away with skipping over the same guys, in his same weight class for years. I understand boxing is a risk vs reward business but the sanctioning bodies shouldn't be. If the rules only apply when it's financially advantageous, what is the point of the belts?
Personally I do think it's a bit su****ious that NONE of the Reynoso guys have looked good since they all got busted for PEDs. Canelo hasn't gotten a stoppage in 3 fights and looked flat, hasn't been able to use the head movement that characterized a lot of his earlier fights that got him where he is now. Valdez has flat out struggled in every fight since then. Martinez got beat down by Chocolatito and then struggled in his last two fights against basic competition. And Reynoso hasn't been able to give his fighters any adjustments to make when the game plans didn't work out. I don't like to make accusations without evidence, but that's a heck of a pattern. 9 fights across 3 fighters that they just don't look like themselves.

Andrade and Benavdiez are PBC and already in 168. Since they are all lames including the Charlos to Canelo fanboys, why is he pulling up the 2 with ZERO fights at 168 and having the established 168s fight each other?
Here is a quiz:
What would be the odds on the books if it was Benavidez/Andrade vs Charlos?
