Yes. Canelo was a catch weight king for a minute doing fights at a 155 pound catch weight. But let’s be fair, those catch weights weren’t as dramatic as a him coming down 8 pounds to a weight he hasn’t competed at in years. Canelo is still a smaller super middle but his body has grown into it and he’s competed at 175 as well. Crawford vs Canelo would be a magical fight but the stars would really have to align for them to compete. I would say 160 is the weight the fight should happen at but I think it’s highly unlikely Canelo goes down that much and Crawford would have to climb up 13 pounds.

I bet if Floyd Mayweather Jr said he would rematch Canelo at 154 pounds that Canelo would take that fight in a heartbeat. No doubt. Canelo doesn't want to fight Crawford because he knows that at 154 lbs that Bud would beat him. For Canelo to go down in weight like that it would have to be a winnable fight for him. Canelo likes to eat which is why he gains so much weight. If he disciplined himself with eating, trained hard he could make the weight. Bud is too much risk for him. It's the same reason why Canelo won't fight Benavidez Jr because its too much risk for him. I would like to see Canelo get in great shape and discipline himself to fight someone who can beat him. I want to see Canelo take a risk.Comment

Why would he? Crawford’s biggest fight just did under 700k where he was the B side draw.
Fight would only happen with Crawford coming up past 160 so Canelo gets little credit.
He makes $30-50 million no matter who he fights. Crawford isn’t bringing him more than that.Comment
