  • Comments Thread For: Joshua on Strategy For Wilder: This is a Game of Chess, I'm Gonna Nullify Him

Anthony Joshua already has a game plan in his head for a potential showdown with Deontay Wilder. The battle of former world champions is being targeted for a January date in Saudi Arabia. Joshua was in action on Saturday night in London, where he scored a brutal one-punch knockout of Robert Helenius in the seventh round.

Or, in other words, "everyone has a chess match in mind until they get punched in the face".

Sounds like a plan. Until someone smashes the Chessboard.

Typical flakey bullschit from Joshua. Hopefully wilder violently kos him and he can retire.

The whole plan would be avoid the right hand. The problem is that he has to be perfect. Wilder has KO people stepping in or in a counter while he is getting hit. Part of the plan would be hurt Wilder and then keep him down. Too much risk having too many rounds against him.

is AJ asking if people watching dont like what they are seeing have they ever boxed before

i think i remember years ago when the wilder fight was yapped about he wanted the fans to get in the ring with wilder or something like that lol

hes a bit defensive at times, not the signs of a very confident person probably

Helenius could of been hit with that right from the opening bell. His chin was right there straight up with his hands down at all times. The fans saw that, that's why they were booing. Wilder saw it and ended things. AJ had to be really sure and then again, a little more sure then rethink it some more then go for it at just the right moment instead of anytime he wants it like Wilder and thats the difference in mentality. Helenius is just a big man but his boxing skill is disappointing, and I really try to like him but he's not so great

In other words, he's going to stand there with a high guard reluctant to engage until Wilder lands one and knocks his robot head into the 10th row.
