Antonio Tarver's next act will be to rip Derick James for the drubbing that
Anthony Joshua will take if he fights any live body in the heavy weight division's top 10.

The same time that Errol Spence was 'exposed' as a fighter, Derick James was exposed as "a trainer of the year" on the same night.

AJ's best days are behind him and there is nothing, that Derick James can do for him.

But, Antonio Tarver is better than what 'One Plan Fits All' Derick James will ever be.

And, that's a fact.

I don’t know if Tarver would be a good trainer. Tarver had great defense so maybe he could be, but it takes a lot more than what he’s saying to build and train a great fighter. You can give the perfect input/advice all day, but your opponent always has something to do with your guy not following a game plan. It’s the adjustments that I didn’t see in the Spence Bud fight that Errol didn’t make that everyone noticed.

I agree with Antonio Tarver. Derrick James should have encouraged his charge to not take a 15 month layoff but instead, take a tune up fight or two before challenging Terence Bud Crawford for the undisputed Welterweight crown; Just so he can stay in boxing shape.

However, he underestimated Crawford. He was both ****y and arrogant in his believe that Bud was too small and that Spence would just steam roll past him but boy was he wrong.

The problem I believe is that Derrick James is spreading himself too thin. His stable of fighters have expanded in the past few months with the additions of Anthony Joshua and Ryan Garcia.

He probably just doesn't have enough time to work with Spence extensively like he used to.
