Spence came into the fight looking like he just finished a fight, and the party afterwards!

I was very unimpressed with DJ. I was also very disappointed he let that fight go on as long as it did. Spence seemed to be concussed after the second round and was on chicken legs several times before the stoppage. I wish he would just hang 'em up for the good of his long-term health.

Spence is who he is but you could argue that was the problem. At no point throughout his career did they bother adding new tools to his toolbox. They kept using a hammer for every job and it worked until it didn't.
My question is did they not bother adding layers because they were winning without or because James felt Spence wasn't capable of picking up new things? They went into that fight with no semblance of a game plan that focused on Crawford and his style. It's like trainer malpractice. Even when they did the mitts in the media workout, whenever James went southpaw, no punches were thrown just a bunch of posturing and posing.charliepaerker

Spence’s loss could be attributed to several factors individually or as a collective. Bud is a great fighter, styles make fights, and/or Spence had an off night. Whatever the reason, Spence took the loss like a man and he should be applauded for that. To the fans that are bashing him and have turned their back on him, you guys are some fake fans. Spence took a high level risk and came up short. Ain’t that what y’all supposedly want? For fighters to risk more in the ring? Well, Spence did that and even Crawford gave credence to that truth when he told him that the fight would have never happened had it not been for Spence. Spence is a great fighter and I’m not going to discard. And even if he is done, what he accomplished is admirable. Great fighters lose but it’s the way they rise back from a defeat that truly makes them great. Think back to the four kings and how they all suffered major defeats inside and outside of the ring.SteveM likes this.

I never had Spence in my pound for pound tip ten. He was even consistently above Canelo these last years when Canelo has challenged himself a lot more and achieved a lot more. Beterbiev has a similar record to Spence (stayed in same division) but every win was a stoppage - yet people crap on Beterbiev.BlackRobb
