Bud does not beat Boots as easy as people think. Boots is young, fast, hungry, has good defense and has great lateral movement. Bud even said that Boots reminds him of himself. This is high praise from Crawford. If and when he loses to Boots, then his earning potential drops significantly. Bud is not invincible like people make him out to be. He is top pound for pound today, no doubt. Bud is being a good business man and capitalizing on his success.

Bud gets hit too. All boxers get hit at some point and time. Boots punches from different angles and does not get hit when he punches. He has that Philly shell and great lateral movement. He is an up and coming fighter. So yes he must prove himself. Ali, Tyson, Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Crawford, all of these guys had to prove themselves. People didn't think Ali would beat Liston, or that Hearns would beat Cuevas or that Mayweather would beat Hernandez. Holmes knew he could beat Ali in 1975 but was not given a chance to fight Ali because Ali knew better. Same logic goes with Bud. Bud knows better. DO NOT DISMISS BOOTS SO QUICKLY. Boxing politics and business tactics from Bud will keep him from fighting Boots.

So there you have it, Bud is not interested in Boots, Spence probably isn't either nevermind he will probably be taking a long break so he can stop mentioning them for now. He's gotta start taking the best fights available to continue to build momentum and get the fans clamoring for him about this high profile fights. Stanionis will be a start, after that maybe start reaching for Ortiz if he stays at 147. No more overmatched opponents. If he takes this path and continues to win impressively, he will get a Crawford at some point. Who he fights next will be absolutely telling what he is about.

He might as well fight Tank and get that bread. Charlo vs Crawford is not a big fight. And Canelo beat him to it.

Young and inexperienced. Who boots fought.. Villa? He never fought under the bright lights and likely won't know how to react if he gets hurt by Bud just like Spence didn't. Boots makes too many big moves that may work on slower opposition not on the elite level, he's more flash than he is skill like Roy. When Roy fought a great counter puncher in Tarver he got KTFO.

Boots isn't a draw either, the crowd was very small at the Villa fight so he simply doesn't bring enough to the table outside of being a mandatory Bud just made 25m's what will the networks/promoters offer for a fight with Boots 2-4 million at best? Makes no sense for Bud at this time..No one knows Boots outside of HC boxing fans...

Crawford has always said he wanted to move to 154 for a belt after becoming undisputed at 147. I have no problem with that.
