I thought that early visit from the ring doctor was odd, too.

I did to they were worried as Spence was getting beat up bad, they were concerned as he never recovered from the first KD and was getting hit with everything.

Lesson to be learned is don't ever delay fights. We grow old, we gain weight that is hard to lose. And then it's too late to change course.

Between the time Spence fought Ugas and Bud, a lot could have happened. Besides, he had ANOTHER car accident that following year.

I dont really buy it. He was off balance because he kept putting himself in positions where all his weight was on the wrong leg while leaving his hand down.

Spence is a tremendous fighter when he is doing his thing. The reason he lost is Bud neutralised the ways Spence fights to win

Did the car crash take something out of him? Probably. But it wouldnt have mattered

What this merely tells me is the fight should have happened years ago. Not when fighters have a hard time losing weight.

That doesnt necessarily mean he hasn't got problems though. He sounds completely punch drunk. I know he's always had that lazy sounding voice and accent but go and listen to him a few years ago and listen to him now and he was far more lucid back then. I even made a thread about it before the fight because it was so obvious.

How can that crash help? Even if it caused minimal damage and he fought afterwards, that doesn't mean he hasn't been making the damage worse from months of sparring etc

its can be both true that Crawford is simply better and Spence also has issues from the crash and weight and whatever else. The guy looked zonked out before even fought, let's be real.

Maybe he knows it too. He might know he's done and he finally decided to fight Crawford once or twice for the big money before retiring.

I belive Crawford is just much better regardless but there's no way you couldn't look at spence and listen to him in the lead up to the fight and not think something is off with him. He looked half asleep in the changing room before the fight.

                Exactly

There is a video where spence is talking with bud a few years back and his voice is quite different .....spence voice has definitely changed and become slower and almost slurred in his speech.....I picked bud and I’m not making any excuse for spence because Crawford was on another level and was supreme in that ring......but do we really know how much spence was affected by that car crash.

I thought he looked and sounded different before the fight, as did many others, so I have to give a lot of consideration to that Dr's opinion. I don't think many people think that Spence looked like Spence Saturday, and I'm not taking anything away from Crawford.
