Look I see what you're saying. However I don't think he needs a complete overhaul. You believe that and that's fine. I'm definitely approaching this optimistically.
No, I'm saying that Errol isn't a normal 33 year old. Also, what he needs to to change In order to beat Bud requires a complete overhaul. Fighters can adjust but not all fighters can adjust.
I think you're thinking idealistically and not realistically given the circumstances and everything we know about the parties involved.
I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that Spence can win a rematch. Unlikely, however possible. That's an absolute fact.
He can definitely go back to the drawing board. And seeing as if his trainer is pretty good, he can definitely come up with a better game plan. Maybe if hes lucky and Bud also wants the fight at 154 he can train and prepare differently.
I'm just not one to count fighters out even after a bad loss. Each fighter responds differently in these scenarios. So I'll wait and see what the fighter shows me which will be the evidence. We will know in a couple weeks what he decides to do next.Comment

I got it. I think we can agree to disagree. I mentioned in another thread a few things he could do to be more competitive. I just don't think he can learn and apply those things within a single training camp for an immediate rematch but his mentality is to dive right back into the fire. That's why he is who he is and accomplished what he has.

Canelo vs Bud at cw (164?)
Bud wins that fight convincingly if you ask me. If they do fight, I'll bet anyone right now that Bud will be the Vegas favorite going in.
And if Bud wins that fight, that's two wins against top 5 pound for pound fighters, puts him into the top 10-15 all-time imoLast edited by joesaiditstrue; 08-01-2023, 10:42 AM.Comment

Again, that's a bit too much post-fight exuberance. Bud is great, but he's neither a mover nor a puncher at SMW so I don't see him presenting big problems for Canelo over 12 rounds. If they did fight at 164lbs, I think Canelo KOs him. I would love to see it but there really is no upside for Canelo. He's going to make $40 million against whoever he fights.
