Canelo could fight someone ranked 20th in the world and still make millions, so it's not a relevant point of discussion as it applies pretty much no matter who he fights.

It's not a terrible fight, but ODLH's words have some credence: a loss for Canelo would look very bad, a win doesn't gain him much in terms of kudos because his opponent has always fought at a significantly lighter weight. Therefore he is on something of a hiding to nothing. Not totally, as Charlo is talented and not a small man, but ODLH is not full of shlt here.

it's all risk no reward, well, except for the part about 100 million dollars. Canelo is slipping a little so I see the wisdom in his taking a sweet 3 fight deal with the first 2 fights being fights he should win handily. "Should" being the operative word. I don't think Canelo is hungry anymore, put a guy in front of him that everyone says is easy and I think his intensity level may take a hit. Wouldn't totally shock me if the 2nd PBC fight of his contract is a Jermell rematch to avenge a loss.

bruh... at this point, if you think canelo still needs to prove himself then you really dont know jack about boxing... my point is that canelo is already established and will go down as one of the best to ever do it... at this point, he doesnt need to prove anything. he will be making millions in the charlo fight and that's a win itself.

De La Hoya is right. People forget that De La Hoya himself was a great fighter. Taking off his promoter hat, he is as qualified to give his take on Canelo as a fighter himself. I don't think there will be much of a size difference between Canelo and Charlo. Charlo probably walks around at 180 plus lbs and has to get himself down to 154 lbs to compete at super welterweight. It's no different that what Canelo does, except that Canelo got tired of getting down to 154 lbs and stayed at heavier weights to avoid the weight drain. I see the fight on even terms when Charlo comes in at 165lbs to Canelo's 168 lbs. People see Canelo as taking an easy way out from fighting David Benavidez by fighting Charlo. I wouldn't be surprised if Charlo beats him up. Canelo isn't doing himself any favors fighting Charlo.

that's what i am getting at... what kinda gain does canelo need at this point? he's already proven. oscar is just being satly... if canelo was still under oscar, he would be hyping this fight up.
