that's what i am getting at... what kinda gain does canelo need at this point? he's already proven. oscar is just being satly... if canelo was still under oscar, he would be hyping this fight up.
True with the hyping bit, but that is a truism. A promoter will promote his fighter.... Naturally.
Is ODLH a bit salty? Probably. But his words aren't spurious , nonetheless.
If you're asking what gain does Canelo need at this point, you are basically arguing the truth of ODLH's argument -- you are conceding he makes no gain from a win, but with your added belief that he has so much attained already in his career that it's irrelevant.
Charlo has a great excuse if he loses. Canelo does not. That's all that ODLH is saying and it's hard to argue with.
The only credit canelo can get is to add an active undisputed scalp to his already HOF resume thats about it on the other hand ,is no secret charlo could win the entire boxing world respect if he does pull upset off. Not to mention the substantial purses that comes with it. After all hes considered the better and overall more skilled of the 2 brothers. I give him a solid 25% chance of winning.
Oscar is half right. Real boxing fans won't give credit for beating an inactive 154 pounder but the fan boys will. They will use it as a legit name and win on his resume.

Delahoya has a solid point. But he's leaving out important details surrounding this bout. It was Jermall who was the initial opponent for canelo, but he backed out and Haymon offered Jermell the fight. That wasn't Canelos fight. He would have fought Jermall anyway. Also, ever since canelo left Oscar, he's been resentful towards canelo. It's a business and he of all fighters should understand just look at his latest documentary!
