Are you ******? I'd wager by your avatar...

He is an extremely thick, large-boned mesomorphic individual. To come in 30 pounds lighter than in his other recent fights is wickedly impressive. If he keeps it up, he'll be cracking heads for a while. He'd still likely lose a decision to the Klit's (as it's nearly impossible to knock Tua out; perhaps even for Vitali), but this is a step in the right direction.

Someone has said that this is the most important fight in New Zealand history.

That may be so, but the most important fighter produced in New Zealand, was the Middle, Light-Heavy and Heavyweight champion, Bob Fitzsimmons, who grew up there and learned to box there, I seem to recall, from the old-time champion Jem Mace. [ Roy Jones, when he beat Ruiz for a version of the Heavyweight title, is, amongst other reasons, justly renowned for being the first former Middleweight champion since Bob Fitz' also known as "Ruby Robert".

Nat Fleischer, the founder and publisher of Ring magazine, saw him fight, and knew him. Fleischer lived until 1972-3, which brings him well into the modern era, where top fighters performed, who are still with us today, ....although of course, since Larry Holmes finally retired, none of them is still fighting.

History as she is made !!

agreed. they both have about the same amount of power, but with tyson having the speed and skill advantage and tua having the chin advantage. I would say that would make the difference. both would clock each other and tyson would probably get more shots in but tua's left hook is just deadly and far lesser punchers have dropped tyson and nobody has ever dropped tua, so I would have to give this fight to tua if it happened in the 90's.
