Sometimes fighters just have a guy they can’t beat. Rahman couldn’t beat Maskaev, Arreola couldn’t beat Stiverne & Wilder couldn’t beat Fury. Can Joyce beat Jimmy Wang Yang in the rematch?

I'm not totally writing Joyce off in the rematch. He's certainly the underdog though. I'll be impressed if he can make the necessary adjustments and get the win. Let's see how capable he is.

If his socket never swoll I could have visualised the fight going either way but joyce was definetly the one who was building momentum as zhang was starting to slow and joyce was certainly taking his punches better whilst not forgetting to go to the body

That is a big IF. A huge guy was hitting him on the same place over and over again, what would you expect to happen?

I have said a few times... I want to see Joyce at the weigh in, but unless he looks horrid I am taking a motivated, humiliated, ready for war Joyce. I also have said this: I think we saw the best fight possible out of Zhang. I know Joyce can do better.

Highly doubtful considering when joyce was caught colder in the first few rounds he never went down

joyce warms into fights and zhang loses his pop in the second half of the fight

Joyce was landing more and more nearer the fights end and zhangs output was dropping significantly at the time of the stoppage

zhangs power will be most dangerous in the first few rounds even a casual could relate to that fact

You're speaking like joyce is just some random normal chinned chump

The guys got a cast iron chin and zhang couldn't have hit him any cleaning or more repeatedly than he did in the early rounds and there was no sign of joyce crumbling to accumulated punches,in fact quite the opposite .

You should go and rematch even the highlights if you want to re educate yourself

My gut feeling tells me Joyce will win even if he makes a mistake and brings Salas in the corner ,I don’t get what use he’s doing there he can’t speak fluent English and is more distracting with the other guy giving instructions whoever that is ……it’s a mess really not a way to have a corner .


Im going to go on the notion Joyce fought terrible and made Zhang look like a world beater that night , I think it’ll be tough fight ,Zhang won’t just let Joyce bulldoze him over but I expect a completely different fight as most rematches usually are and Joyce can’t be that oblivious not to correct a simple angle in his stance where his face isn’t there for straight fast balls like a baseball plate .

Should Joyce win I expect the boxing scene forum experts to once again say they knew it all along as if they don’t always act like a rematch is unwinnable all the time on here in fact it’s probably what this very forum is known for the most ,you’d think no one’s ever won a rematch in boxing ever if you were on this forum long enough . Lol
