This matchup would sale because they are both offensive fighters. Neither will come to box. I don't know why the Munguia team are not taking this fight, very winnable. Munguia has developed a jab and can beat Berlanga with it. Berlanga does not fight when he is jabbed at. Berlanga will always have the puncher's chance and he hits harder to the body than most gives him credit for, unfortunately he doesn't go to the body that much.

If Zayas scores some spectacular knockout's in his next fights leading up to June 2024, then he might get MSG in June 2024.
Berlanga want's Munguia next at the MSG, if Hearn is willing to pay for it then it's going to happen.
That said although Berlanga beat Quigley in his last outing he didn't look like what I was expecting him to in his first fight out.Bronx2245 likes this.

Those needs are that you have to look impressive each, and every fight in front of the boxing fan's.
Because this fight against Quigley was boring, and you were getting tagged, and wobbled by a fighter who has campaigned at lower weights.
This really has to be you're number one priority going forward, fighting a good fight, instead of talking a good fight.
It's the only way you're going to get more people to get on the Berlanga band wagon.
well said, Boricua181!

Never thought about this matchup, but makes perfect sense. We can clear out Berlanga sooner if we realize he isn't the real deal at all rather than continue to follow the hype. Munguia can become a bigger star beating Berlanga which will help his own career. If he loses, it proves Munguia was always a bum and Berlanga's stock rises.
Both are young and will fight to the death here which is nice to see these days. I honestly don't think Berlanga will hand for long against Munguia though. If he can't hurt him or put him away early, I see it a break down where he eventually throws in the towel or quits on the stool.

JM and EB are both in the $450k - $600k purse range. This fight will boost up their ratings and paydays. DAZN and TOP RANK would have to negotiate terms, especially if PPV is involved. My vote would be to make this fight happen.

I still agree with another poster that Berlanga should have to get past Sergiy Derevyanchenko first. He's a tough out for anyone, and will put paid to Berlanga's claims about people not coming to fight. He wants to fight Munguía, fight the guy who Munguía just got past. If he can stop him (he can't), he'll have done what Daniel Jacobs, GGG, Charlo, Adames, and Munguía couldn't.
Eddie might even be ****** enough to make that fight.
