The reality is that PBC is making big money with Canelo. It is not Al Haymon or the PBC fighters themselves who are the mega draw. Everybody is making money off Canelo's star power. First and foremost are the promoters, then his opponents, the boxing venues, the support staff, janitors, the networks and even the haters who get attention and some likes and money for spreading hate. Ain't life good?

Only a huge Canelo nuthugger could be ok with Canelo turning down 45 million for a massive fight with Benavidez, his frickin mandatory, and instead fighting a guy not even in his weight class, who has not been in the ring for two years.
I don't care if you love or hate Canelo. For anyone who just likes to see good fights an respects the sport, this is one of the most blatant ducks in the history of the sport. This **** has been going on now for years. What is the point of having mandatories?
The only way Canelo fans can justify this garbage is to attack others who call it out. While in their own heads they are thinking...why do you make me justify this crap Canelo? Cowardly.Last edited by Theshotyoudontsee; 06-23-2023, 10:36 AM.Comment

The sanctioning organizations have an agreed mandatory order for unified champions. That's why Dubois is getting his shot at Usyk before Hrgovic and Zhang/Joyce. Did you think that rules changed for different weight divisions?
I think WBA is probably next, then IBF, as Yildirim was the WBC mandatory, and Ryder was the WBO.
So that means the next mandatory is Morrell, and then whoever gets ordered by the IBF, which hasn't had a defense since Jan 2021. William Scull is ranked 1 there, followed by Shishkin and Berlanga. That's why it benefits Benavidez to fight Morrell, because that's likely the next mandatory.Comment

When I see people calling for Benavidez to fight Canelo all I see is people desperate for Canelo to lose. Somehow people think Canelo trying to avenge his defeat to Bivol is him ducking Benavidez.Comment

He cash cow because he has a bunch of
5"1 men that will defend him more than their 15 year old wives. I wanted a Charlo fight at 160 after he destroyed Derv. The man hasn't fought in two years and never fought at 168 but the fan boys saying this is a good fight. Waiting in that hot sun at Home Depot combined with meth has the brain getting smoother by the second.
Canelo's name doesn't belong next to De La Hoya's and definitely not Floyd's. At least when the midgets complained about Salido he got a rematch. Lara won but Nela ran. Oscar fought everyone. This coward had the walls close in on him. Can't demand that cash with 250k ppv buys and you're the "Face of boxing".Comment

He might be 32, I don't remember. Why does it matter when or if Canelo fights Benavidez? Canelo is clearly past his prime and Benavidez is relatively young. Canelo already did enough to get out of the game and he owes nothing to the guy who lost his shot at Canelo for being overweight and being a druggy.
When I see people calling for Benavidez to fight Canelo all I see is people desperate for Canelo to lose. Somehow people think Canelo trying to avenge his defeat to Bivol is him ducking Benavidez.
I have spent the last ten years confused about the hype on Canelo, and hoping he would be the guy they were building him up as. He was a product of hype, period. Good fighter who has a great chin. The dumb masses were sold "Canelo is the face of boxing, a Mexican superstar", and they ate it up.
I wish he were a killer. Now he is 32 and apparently unable to beat any top comp, so we all now get to witness the Canelo farewell retirement tour, where he will beat guys who don't box anymore and other **** guys. Than we can all say, man, Canelo earned this. Wtf?Last edited by Theshotyoudontsee; 06-23-2023, 11:04 AM.Comment
