All I have read was Benavidez's promoter saying there was a deal done in principal, and Benavidez's dad saying that Morrell isn't ready but that they will kick his ass if they fight

Morrell either doesn't understand what "signed contract" means, or he has been misled. Benavidez has been discussing terms with a few fighters, including Canelo, as well as Mungia. The Morrell camp immediately goes to the media insulting Benavidez and trash talking. Morrell hasn't fought anyone. Benavidez is Canelo's mandatory.

Now they're changing the story. I think they have a signed contract to fight Morrell, but not on a particular date, and they had agreed to a Sept/Oct meeting but then Munguía started to look available and they're trying to make that fight because they think it's worth more money.

Morrell is also Canelo's mandatory with the WBA. Benavidez is through the WBC, but Canelo seems to own Sulaiman, so he'll never get that enforced.

Morrell says everyone wants to see him vs Benavidez... BS!! Everyone wants to see Benavidez vs Canelo. Most people don't even know who Morrell is. He's trying the Rolly method of talking his way into a big fight. I don't think it will work.

Rolly is bum compared to Morrell Jr. Rolly got the big fight because he is not a good boxer. Morrell Jr however, can Fook any SMW, that's why they're not stepping up to the plate.

Morrell looks great against cans. We won't know if he is that scary until he fights a good fighter. Look at Boots. He was the big bogeyman, a fringe guy took him 12 rounds.

Styles make fights and Benavidez is not going to stand there and take a whipping. He will wear Morrell down and likely pummel him. Levels.

Well, benavidez started fighting similar opposition as Morrell Jr has fought, 12 fights ago, the first 14 or 15 were there to padding his record or gain some experience. So what's your point? I think benavidez would be a good measurement for where the Cuban is at, and he would be facing a live body, Morrell Jr. Is not that benavidez has going thru fire to be where he is. He's best win is plant the same guy canelo knock the Fook out. So again, what's your point? Do you think plant is going to face Morrell Jr? How about old man dirrel, do you consider direll a good measuring stick? If it were that easy, benavidez would have sign the contract already.
