As I said yesterday, Morrell's team obviously falsely leaked that him and Benavidez were signed to fight. So he could try to use Benavidez as a stepping stool and fast track his career. ******

Morrell is a good fighter but hasn't fought anyone. He'd be smart to step up a bit in comp, let Benavidez beat Canelo or else Canelo vacate, and try to get into the mandatory position.

He is coming off as ridiculous with the stunts. Great dude, you almost killed a guy who was slow and plodding in the ring. Exciting. I feel like Plant would likely beat Morrell right now. Maybe go fight Plant and test yourself before calling out a guy who has fought far better guys than you have. And bringing up Benavidez's brother? He just sounds disingenuous. Or maybe he isn't keen on working for his shot.

Either way, he is going from a guy I liked, to a clown.

Morrell says everyone wants to see him vs Benavidez... BS!! Everyone wants to see Benavidez vs Canelo. Most people don't even know who Morrell is. He's trying the Rolly method of talking his way into a big fight. I don't think it will work.

All I have read was Benavidez's promoter saying there was a deal done in principal, and Benavidez's dad saying that Morrell isn't ready but that they will kick his ass if they fight

Morrell either doesn't understand what "signed contract" means, or he has been misled. Benavidez has been discussing terms with a few fighters, including Canelo, as well as Mungia. The Morrell camp immediately goes to the media insulting Benavidez and trash talking. Morrell hasn't fought anyone. Benavidez is Canelo's mandatory.

Morrell looks great against cans. We won't know if he is that scary until he fights a good fighter. Look at Boots. He was the big bogeyman, a fringe guy took him 12 rounds.

Styles make fights and Benavidez is not going to stand there and take a whipping. He will wear Morrell down and likely pummel him. Levels.

I get what morrell is doing here and I like it ,lets just hope he gets an actual worthy opp next cause we cant really consider him a monster if he keeps fighting the yamaguchis or the aiedos and expect he'll do the same to benavidez or canelo.
