Finally Anderson is going to face a live body. Martin may not be top tier but he's at least experienced and can crack.
This is actually a major step up compared to his past opponents.

First Charles Martin and next Wilder leaving PBC ? Why so much jumping ship? Trouble in paradise.

Gotta love the hustle of Charles Martin. Guy won a heavyweight title because a guy blew his ankle and gotta huge payday to basically hand the belt over and now he can make a living for however long he wants to box fighting these prospects as a former heavyweight champion

This will be a real test for Anderson, who needs a few "name" fights at this point. That said, it is a dangerous fight. Martin was cruising to a win vs Luis Ortiz when Ortiz's skills and experience showed ... Martin was a little careless and he paid. Ortiz and Martin are battle-tested experienced pros at this point. Anyone fighting either of those guys is gonna have to bring it. I think this will be an important first BIG step for Jared. If Martin comes in with the resolve he has mentioned and sharply trained, this will be a real test for Jared Anderson. I believe Jared is up to the challenge (Kossobutskiy was a dangerous fight also).

This may end up being one of the best HW fights this year.

Martin has long since stepped it up after the Joshua embarrassment, where he wasn't trained and in proper shape .... nor properly prepared. That was a rush to the big bucks, and it cost him a lot. Since then he has gradually become a very solid HW contender. Ortiz derailed his momentum (I thought he won the Kownacki fight over the second half).

It's a great and dangerous step-up for Anderson. We'll begin to learn if Anderson can repeat his performances from the amateurs against top 15 competition. Pulling for the class of the Glass City (but I like who Martin has become too). Expecting a great show .... I'll be there.

Better name value than the previous opponent. I wonder when the clash between Anderson and Ajaba will take place

This is always a bunch of bull…premium Visa orders take a few weeks . It’s my understanding with Visa problems is with athletes do it intentionally for the most part . Regular ones take 3 to 6 months so how is this possibly a problem now ? I don’t think Zhang wanted this fight ,I mean it was announced 2 months ago if he’s not making it a priority to attain when then he had no intention getting one fir this fight in the first place . Smh

Fury helped train Martin that’s why the Furys looked dumb afterwards telling everyone how Martin was going to be slick for Joshua and bet money on it, so yea he wasn’t trained properly at all in 2016 where Fury was still throwing punches wrong . Lol

This isn’t a big step for Anderson either , it would be a major upset if he loses . Kossobutskiy was a far more dangerous fight . This fight shouldn’t go past mid rounds if Martin isn’t in actual fighting shape . This is like a day off now with Kossobutskiy a no show . There’s just an obvious talent gap here , Martins a decent puncher maybe even hits harder then Anderson ? Anything else besides that possibility makes this what should be a one sided fight .

I didn't know Fury trained him. Fury really was pillow-fisted at that time. But the blame goes to Martin. He didn't have a serious mentality about training and preparation then. He was kinda gifted a title, and he didn't get serious about keeping it. He cashed a lottery ticket to fight AJ, who was a lot more serious, trained, and prepared at that time (and fighting at home to a massive crowd). Martin didn't give himself much of a chance ...

Thankfully, he learned and worked himself into being a solid pro.

I thought the Kossobutskiy fight was dangerous as well, and I wanted to see what he would bring to Anderson. We'll have to wait ... until proven otherwise though, Jared Anderson is THE upcoming monster!
