The problem is the relationship they've cultivated with Golden Boy which gives the latter leeway to do anything. Like give us countless Rocky Juarez fights even though I saw him get his a** kicked by Humberto Soto years ago.
I can't argue with the Golden Boy business...its clear HBO does whatever they say pretty much...but when you got DLH, Hopkins, and Mosley all big names at the same company I won't be suprised to see other companies left in the dark...

And yea I'm tired of Rocky Juarez...never been impressed by him...he got a gift in the first fight against John...I bet they won't put him in with a big puncher...

But if you want more big fights...the BIG fighters need to fight more often...Mayweather-Marquez shouldn't have been PPV...Mosley aint fought since January...Berto and Williams have been inactive...**** is a mess

jason litzau gets knocked out, he's back on espn, victor ortiz gets knocked out, he's right back on hbo, countless fighters lose title shots, they're back to working they're way up the ladder, rocky juarez gets SIX title shots...and don't be surprised if he pops up as somebody's mandatory again within the next couple of years...top rank killed boxing on versus and golden boy is on the way to doing the same to hbo..

Well how can they make better matchups if the better fighters aren't available to fight?

The big names are big names because HBO made them big names. They can do that with other people if they ever find their cojones.

He's the perfect example of how GBP dominates the channel. WTF is this guy doing getting countless big fights when he always loses or gets a gift?

It's not about quantity it's about quality. That's the problem.

Better fighters? How about better matchups? Isn't that how Arturo Gatti was born, for instance?

big names don't always make good fights...the best fight i saw all year was abregu-garcia, no big names there, and it was on showtime

The only reason I have HBO is for boxing... If they keep going down the road that they are on they will have one less subscriber...

He didn't read it and it is showing in his points.

If he read it, and if he followed what is really going on, he would understand that HBO is not building prospects. They are building GBP's prospects.

Further, it is never a networks job to build prospects. It is a promoters job to invest the money into a young fighter to build them on club shows and off tv shows. Then the promoter cashes in when the prospect graduates to HBO. GBP has never had to really "promote" a fighter or a fight.

                      So true.

More than HBO, my issue lies with GBP. Doing stuff like that, buying the Ring ( ARE YOU ****ING SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?!), and generally being terrible matchmakers.

                      It's just stunning.
