If he read it, and if he followed what is really going on, he would understand that HBO is not building prospects. They are building GBP's prospects.

Further, it is never a networks job to build prospects. It is a promoters job to invest the money into a young fighter to build them on club shows and off tv shows. Then the promoter cashes in when the prospect graduates to HBO. GBP has never had to really "promote" a fighter or a fight.

And GBP whether we like it or not has the most prospects as we speak...

Golden Boy is the biggest promotional company...maybe Goosen, Top Rank, and others need to get more of there fighters on HBO

The only reason I have HBO is for boxing... If they keep going down the road that they are on they will have one less subscriber...

And exactly where are you gonna go for your boxing? HBO has the most fights...some of them are bull**** fights...

But I wanna know what other option do you have? Showtime doesn't have as many big names as HBO does...and doesn't air as many fights...

quality reading and Hauser's overall theme is good.

Greenberg is in dire straits and I doubt he lasts 2010. He basically allowed HBO to outbid .......HBO over fighters promoters and shows. They upped the bidding to the point where Berto now demands high 6 figures

Well I can't recall everyone who's promoted by Top Rank, Goosen, etc. but I do agree the prospects should be on Boxing After Dark not WCB...

I don't see why Arum can't do business with Golden Boy...unless him and Oscar still have a problem...

They also made the mistake of overpaying some of these prospects as well...

If GBP knows there fighters can get on HBO and make big money and get exposure there gonna go for it...

And if Bob Arum cared about good matchups he wouldn't be putting Chavez Jr in there wit nobody after nobody building him a padded record...

More than HBO, my issue lies with GBP. Doing stuff like that, buying the Ring ( ARE YOU ****ING SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?!), and generally being terrible matchmakers.

It's just stunning.

The matchmaking is to build up there prospects quickly...Jacobs has like 17 fights in 2 years...

wrong about the TR PPVs

his overhead on those shows is practically nil because he has other channels pick up the broadcasting fees in exchange for him paying the fighter purses etc.

he has been on record with me and others in the media that all he needs to make is 10k ppv buys from his Latin Fury series to make break even and they average about 50-75k buys. Same with the Pinoy Power series

dude is smart. An ass but smart and he don't do **** unless there is a profit behind it
