Lol ofc he wouldn't even make that kind of money if he was to fight beterbiev himself tbh, why rejecting another career record purse for an easy night work? Right?

After all Bivol clearly said he wasnt in for the money but for legacy Lol, handling another L to the cinnabon would do just that, Its clear Bivol doesn't want to run it back at 175 but 168 for all the marbles. at the end of the day Canelo has multiple options across 3 divisions and not the russian who should be trying to negotiate Beterbiev undisputed fight ,but nooo he still wants the little guy at lower weightclass. Fight to make at 175 is Bivol-Beterview not Bivol- canelo. Yet the ginger is the one that takes all the heat. Boxing.

If he can't get Beterbiev in the ring, he'll settle for Canelo's, and remove the excuse that he only won because he's the bigger man. Don't know why it's so hard for some people here to understand that some fighters aren't in it for the money.
That may be true. Not everyone is motivated by money.
But it doesn’t change his lack of leverage. It’s about who has options. Canelo wants the fight but doesn’t need it. He’s a made man in the game and he’ll get big money no matter who he fights as the A side draw.
If there’s no rematch then it doesn’t change his legacy. He went up in weight and it wasn’t his night. Bivol got the W but it hasn’t changed much for him as far as the fights he may want and what he can dictate.

Canelo is the one that wants the fight, and he NEEDS it to be at 175. I don't think Bivol cares about fighting Canelo again. So he's actually got the leverage. If Canelo wants the fight, he's going to have to meet Bivol's demands, not the other way around. The only way Canelo gets the fight again at 175 is if he gets the belts from Beterbiev first. Otherwise Bivol will always be the guy who was better than Canelo.

Needs it for what? That loss hasn’t changed anything for him. He’s a first ballot HOF and one of the best Mexican fighters and still a top P4P guy.
Bivol is a low key guy and he’ll likely be quickly forgotten when he’s done. If he’s not fighting for money then there aren really any fights that would change that long term.
If a rematch doesn’t happen then it will be a footnote in Canelo’s career when he went up in weight.

Needs it for his ego. He says he wants to get the L back.

Sure he’s an elite competitor so of course he wants the rematch.
That doesn’t mean he takes a fight unless it’s on his terms. He hasn’t been in that spot since the Floyd fight when he was 22.
Bivol’s not the guy to do that and never will be.

Then the fight doesn't happen, because Bivol doesn't care about Canelo and his ego or the payday. It only happens at 175 if Canelo gets the other belts that Bivol wants. If the fight doesn't happen unless Bivol's getting what he wants, and Canelo is the only one who cares about the fight, then it sure doesn't sound like Canelo has the leverage.

That's the way I see it, you beat him a second time, and in the process you take away some of that star power.
Bivol not going to get a second crack at Canelo, if he doesn't accept his terms, because at this point in time Canelo is still the bigger money maker in boxing.
If you beat him a second, you hurt his record, and you hurt his pockets, because now he's a three time loser, twice to Bivol.
Then if there's a trilogy Bivol should have the upper hand st the negotiating table, but also future opponents of Canelo's won't be subjected to his arrogant demands.
Bivol's not going to make the money that he would be making fighting Canelo, against any other fighter, so for pride, and principle's, he misses out on the biggest purse he might make for the rest of his career?
