This is perfect matchmaking with a guaranteed outcome.

Derevyanchenko always had trouble fighting bigger, strong guys at 160lbs. Now Derev is older, shopworn, he's fighting at 168lbs and he intends to retire after the fight. In the end, Derev is being sacrificed for a departing paycheck and a gold watch.

Munguia should decisively get the victory. Not because he's better, but because he'll dwarf Derev, while Derev is older and has been in consistent wars. I'm sure he'll have his moments but I just don't see him having enough at 168 at this stage of his career.

It's hard to go someone who is already talking about hanging 'em up if he loses.

Agreed, but Golden Boy still doesn't quite believe in Munguia.

That's because Munguia has fought lots of tomato cans in his career. He hasn't fought anyone of prominence yet.

Munguia should fight that Kazakh guy that called him and Charlo out.

Mungia is this weird case , dude has 41 fights but is treated and matched up like a prospect ..............

Derev is a bit of a hard luck warrior. I gave him 6 rounds against Jacobs and also against Golovkin but those first round KDs. I thought he took 5 of 10 rounds vs Adams as well, another tough loss.

I think he might surprise Munguia. If he can make it into the late rounds without too much damage I think he'll give Munguia a war.

What? Don't talk about quitting before you get in the ring again. It looks like you gave up already. Quit after you win (or lose).
