Stiverne got a mandatory for Wilder 2 years out of the ring , Breazeale fought Molina to get his shot and both were ranked above 6 . Fury himself got a mandatory spot against Wilder in the second fight through a loophole and they fought three times in 3 years or so . Whyte seems to be the only legit mandatory the WBC has had since 2015 at heavyweight and look at the problems they gave him .

If Joshua is a mandatory at ranking of 3 and a former unified champion I highly doubt it is a negative, one can actually say it’s their best mandatory in 8 years ? The irony of that would be they know Joshua won’t take it because the Wilder fight is worth more and Fury cannot be trusted to negotiate with so they still dont actually get credit for this one anyway if it were to happen . If we’re going by unworthy and fraudulent belt they are well past it then . Lol

I never knew Wilder v Hellenius was an eliminator, by the way. How was Wilder's comeback an eliminator?
Maybe he's well regarded by the WBC being a former champion. He dispatched Hellenius to prove it too but he will always be dangerous particularly in the early rounds. Still not convinced he could go 12 rounds anymore though

Ruiz -Ortiz and Wilder - Helenius were WBC half final elimination matches.

The winners were expected to meet in final eliminator.

How many names have been mentioned as potential opponents for Fury at this point?

I can see that they were eliminators... My question is why?

The WBC didn't actually order either of those fights. One was a comeback fight for a champion who had lost his last 2 fights. Neither fight included Sanchez (ranked 3) or any of the other 6 or so guys they ranked above Ortiz.

The WBC is a joke. They order nothing and then turn in house PBC fights into official eliminators. When they eventually get around to actually ordering something the same fighters and promotion whose hoop they kiss just ignore them.

And for all that they're still miles away from having a mandatory challenger and their champion therefore gets to sit on his backside or fight guys who aren't or shouldn't be ranked at all.

I'm just waiting for them to bring that Franchise rubbish back so they can be disregarded completely.

Thanks for pointing out how corrupt Wbc is. My problem is Ruiz/Wilder were supposed to fight with the winner being named NEXT up vs Fury. How tf do they skip over Andy? Wilder pulled b!tch and is running around begging AJ and Usyk for fights. Why not make AJ/Ruiz trilogy and winner fights Fury? Its bullsh.it

At the least, they have a reason for the 3rd fight. But AJ automatically getting a shot is bs if theyre skipping over Ruiz.

How about AJ v Wilder can fight for "legacy" and Ruiz can take on Frank Sanchez in an eliminator. Isn't Sanchez #4 for WBC? Got the Zhang v Joyce rematch also, which should be pretty good.
