People didn't show sympathy because his illness seemed like a convenient way to excuse his lackluster performance. No sympathy was shown because he foolishly allowed a 400lb bodybuilder to punch him in the chest, which could've caused or exacerbated his illness.

I used to think Teofimo had some maturing to do, but now I believe he may need some therapy. It seems like he's one bad loss away from a meltdown.

Lopez shows signs of actual mental illness. He needs to get help. He seems like a bad ending waiting to happen.

I don't think its mental illness but more so that its taught behaviour from his absolute bellend father.

100%…from a talent perspective i.e. athleticism, speed, power etc I had him above Haney + Garcia and ON PAR with Tank (especially after he beat Loma). However, after losing to Kambosos, he’s proven to be mentally FRAGILE hence suffering multiple knockdowns, breaking up with his wife, having several razor thin fights and now speaking out.

Therefore, unfortunately he’s wasted his talent (just like Broner) and will go down as a good but NOT great fighter when he easily should’ve been so.
