You don’t take rounds off in the championship rounds especially the 12th round

when the opponent is the a-side

Doesn't matter. Lomenchenko won the poll of public opinion.

Haney was just in there landing a bodyshot here and there. Never put any combinations together or backed the man up, Lomenchenko was doing all that. I

They were clearly banking on Lomenchenko being too shopworn now the judges and his diehards gotta help him out.

If you are going to quote a man, then quote him. Do not fabricate things he did not say.

Loma said that if you gave Haney thr 12th round, then fine; he did not need that round to win. That’s what he said. He did not say he took off that round.

You're not fighting some russian guy in kiev. Some below examples of ******ed moves the loma camp made. The video is around 3 minute mark starting.

          1. Fighting salido in his 2nd fight and not complaining to the ref about the low blows.
          2. Not putting a rematch clause in the lopez fight
          3. Not taking the kambosa fight and pretending like he went to war for a PR move no one cares about. This would have been his victory as undisputed champ and given him more leverage going into haney fight. His friend Uskyk decided to fight Joshua even with the war.
          4. Taking rd 12 off against haney because they thought they had it won

You are spot on and absolutely correct. If one is a Loma fan; Then the most frustrating thing about this entire video of his boasting about taking the twelfth round off is; If he had only won that 12th round, then the fight would have been declared an official Draw.

Likewise, not too mention all of those early rounds where he allowed Haney to steal by taking several rounds off too. The bottom time is that Loma held back in this fight; Similarly, as he had done previously in his last loss to Teofimo Lopez.

He did not leave it all in the ring then or now and has only himself to blame again for this defeat.

Good Post! These Loma apologists knew what he meant. They are just attempting to do some spin control in order to protect him from some bad PR. Vasiliy even admitted the same thing at his post-fight press conference too. He even acknowledged then how he deliberately took the twelfth round off because he thought he had won the fight.

In order lift the titles off the champion. You got to win the fight both convincingly, decisively and definitively. Well Loma did not do that. He neither fought like a champion nor looked like a champion against Devin Haney. He fought scared and was afraid of taking too many risks in the ring. Why didn't he fight the entire fight like he fought the 11th round?

What a lot of people don't remember is he was losing the linares fight on the cards and they were going to rob him if he did not get the KO
Watch the video interview. He said from his own mouth he went easy in rd 12 because he thought he was up by a lot.

To be honest, De La Hoya thought he was out boxing Trinidad.

I did not think Lomachenko took round 12 off, looked like he was fighting hard in the Championship rounds 'But of course, EFFORT is a personal thing'.

Lomachenko most likely feels as if he could more effort into the round 12 etc.

Taking rd 12 off and going easy in rd 12 are not the same
