You were the one who said he would give Haney a beating. In the eyes of most he did enough to win. Against a younger, much larger opponent. Loma is at a disadvantage at 135, his ideal weight class is 130, but there's no money there.

Can you imagine a prime Manny Pacquiao getting beaten by Teofimo Lopez? He’d batter him and stop him. It wouldn’t be competitive.

He’s got 3 losses now in 20 fights.

Perhaps he’s not quite as elite as we initially thought?
      Definitely.

He left his best days in the amateurs.

Still a first ballot HOF’er but not the generational talent sections of the media billed him as.

He is generational talent for sure. The guy is unique and we will never see such style again. Incredible talent and at 35yo still outboxing young talents

I thought he would give Haney beating. I predicted that most of the fight would look like rounds 10 and 11.

Both great fighters, I’m just not sure if Loma is quite as good as I thought he was.

Mayweather and Pacquiao were generational talents. Imagine what they’d do to Haney even at 35. They wouldn’t lose a single round.

Haney isn’t even that good, I had Loma winning but I don’t see it as some incredible accomplishment that he beat (or arguably should’ve beat) Haney.

Great fighter but not an era defining fighter. He’ll never be revered in the pro’s like he was in the amateur’s.

I don't think you know what generational talent means. It does not mean losing 3 fights out of 20 to non elite fighters, plus he really lost to Ortiz also as well but was given a robbery nobody complained about.

His resume in no way has earned the accolade youre giving him.

There is only one reason you are posting this.

He could have become undisputed champion at 135lbs with a massive natural size disadvantage over his opponents and is arguably fighting 2 weight classes above his best weight.

Nothing over rated about that at all.

I think he won it 7-5 and would love to see a rematch.

                    What a dumb thread.

Loma's not in his prime and hasn't been since he's been at 135.

Even at Linares, he was at the limits of his age & size.

The fact that he hung with 2 P4P level talents in Lopez & Haney while a decade older than both and smaller than both shows how bad ass he is.

I agree with that and I really like Loma. Begs the question though. If Mayweather and Pacquiao are generational talents, then what is a Roy Jones Jr ( who is arguably a level of talent ABOVE even Manny and Floyd which is hard to imagine but it's true)... Is ANY boxer of ANY era at Roy's talent level?
