nothing special about him, lost to a mexican gate keeper that he should have KO instead. If he is that great, why didnt he at least score a KD against Haney or KO ?

            What are the holes?

Not disagreeing with you just interested in the flaws you see.

No he isnt. He’s very good. Dude is an ATG amateur, maybe the best ever. That led to big hype as a pro, as it should. His skills are tremendous.

The disconnect began when some posters decided he was in the class or level of Roy and Floyd. He never was and never will be.

That led to the divisiveness and garbage whenever he fights. Every fight became a referendum on liking Loma rather than a discussion of the fight.

There was no longer any middle ground for discussion. If you didnt proclaim him an ATG that meant you hated him because he was white. That is the loop NSB is stuck in.

Loma is a damn good boxer. He should imo make the HOF as he was a top p4p boxer for years, occupying the top spot for a while.

He isnt an ATG, isnt the best of his era, is no way, shape or form on the level of Roy or Floyd. Imo he isnt on Manny’s level either.

Don’t see why that isnt ok that he is beneath them.

Backs up in a straight line when under pressure (he has improved a lot on this flaw though but still costs him rounds that he was controlling before that)

Starts too slow (didn’t against Haney in fairness)

Coasts and admires his work too much.

Lomachenko is a level below fighters like Floyd Mayweather Junior & Manny Pacquiao.

People are saying things like? He should not of went past 130 pounds, and he is only losing to these fighters because they are bigger fighters.

Floyd Mayweather Junior moved up through the weights, and he had to alter his style in order to stay competitive and win.

When you don't have the power, or brute strength to bull your opponent. It is your boxing skills which negate this area of their game, and bridge the gap.

Lomachenko skill for skill, quite simply has not shown that he has the ability of Floyd Mayweather Junior.

Skill for skill Haney and Lopez done nothing super sophisticate vs Lamochenko, they fought him with simply and straight forward game plans.

Whether people think Lomachenko beat Haney or not. I think Mayweather Junior would of beaten a fighter like Haney stylistically quite easily.

Lomachenko is a all-time great fighter, and he is still a elite level fighter. But there are no fighters active today operating anywhere near Mayweather Junior's or Pacquiao's level etc.

Floyd Mayweather Junior, Manny Pacquiao, Roy Jones Junior. These fighters were a level above Lomachenko in peak ability.

Lomachenko is in and around Hopkins, Calzaghe, Toney, Alvarez type levels in ability. i.e But I would actually rate Alvarez below this level, I mentioned before in past threads that Bernard Hopkins would most likely not drop a round to Alvarez.

Note: Skill for skill I rate Usyk has a better fighter than Lomachenko. Lomachenko can still get another title fight for the undisputed title, all he needs to do is to keep fighting at 135 pounds 'Stylistically maybe a fight vs Davis would be easier in some ways' etc.
