Style in the ring is secondary. Accomplishments come first. Both were dominant but as it stands today, Floyd's got a ways to go before he catches up with the decorated Jones.

      - More of Roy Jones opponents went on to win championships after he beat them (Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Clinton Woods, Julio Gonzalez, John Ruiz). Floyd's opponents were either way too green or were on the tail-end of their boxing careers

      - Roy Jones has yet to show a single sign of ever getting hurt, or close to losing a fight until he was 35 when he barely beat Tarver and got knocked out in the rematch. Jones has a love and respect for the sport. Mayweather retired at 33 after massing up large amounts of cash. Mayweather has also came close to losing against a prime Castillo (a fight I think he clearly lost). Mayweather has also been stunned on several occasions.

      - Roy won in a much more impressive and devastating fashion than Floyd and he did it against better opponents. Remember when he mimicked a chicken and knocked James Toney into the ropes? I'd love to see Floyd open up his guard for once and try that on another hall-of-famer. Roy left no doubt who won the fight. Floyd loves to bend the rules by using his forearms, turning away from his opponent, and dipping so low that his opponents accidentally hit him low or in the back of the head.

      - Roy fought the better ranked opponents. Go to boxrec.com and you'll see that Mayweather didn't face the best of the welterweights. Zab Judah was a has-been who lost his title to Baldimir. He beat the best Junior Welterweight(Ricky Hatton) at Welterweight.

      - Roy was also the first fighter and perhaps only fighter to go through an entire round without getting hit by a punch. So who's defense is better now?

      - Roy never got hurt or close to losing a fight during his prime. So who's got the better boxing style after all or was Roy that much more athletic?

      - Many observers have also considered Roy Jones to still have faster handspeed than mayweather. Mayweather's speed is mostly in his body.

In the end, Floyd won boring unimpressive fights against lackluster competition. Even against inferior fighters, he showed numerous flaws and got hit with big clean shots. Floyd may have won many fights but he did lose numerous rounds against Castillo, Judah, and De La Hoya where Roy hardly ever loses a clear round (in his prime).
very well put good sir, all of roy's wins have been entertaining ALL of them. If you ordered a Roy Jones Jr ppv you will get your moneys worth. Floyd has robbed us of our money so many times with his no risk take the high road victories especially over baldomir. Take nothing away from Mawyeather, but Jones Jr is an all time great who fought everyone at their best, started his career in may of 1989 at 154 and won a heavyweight title in march of 2003!! a career that will span into 4 decades come january he is a true ATG.

If Roy Jones didn't have super human reflexes combined with power he would of been trash. His actual boxing technique was laughable.

Take that away and make him more normal, and hardly anyone would know who he was.

But that being said, it doesn't take away the fact that he was ridiculous and is still an ATG. He was just blessed with super human ability.

It's hilarious how people denegrate Mayweather for cherry picking, when Roy stayed busy throughout his career wailing on the postmans and milkmen of the world

I'm a Floyd fan, and as of right now, I believe RJJ has the better achievements. But, I believe Floyd has the potential to surpass those achievements depending on who he defeats before he retires for good.

I refuse to vote on this poll until they both retire. But keep in mind RJJ was in the olympics in 1989 while floyd was in the olympics in 1996 so they are very far a part from each other in age, experience and long longevity so th eleast Roy can be is, better than Floyd in accomplaishments with that huge head start he has on him.

                RJJ(40 Years Old) Champion in:
                MW
                SMW
                LHW
                Hw

                FMJ(32 Years Old)Champion in:
                SFW
                LW
                JWW
                WW
                JMW

I personally like RJJ more but at the nd of their careers I think Floyd will be have accomplished more.

Going by belts today is treacherous. For instance, the junior middleweight belt Floyd won...really? You get my point.

How you fight from Super Featherweight to Junior Middleweight and not fight bigger opponents?...Lol okay?

Floyd going up to Junior Middleweight is the euivalent of Jones going up to Heavyweight?

The only difference was that floyd fought the Lineal Champion there and Roy Jones fought for an Alphabet titleagainst John Ruiz. And this is coming from a Jones nuthugge and trust me i def favor Jones over Mayweather anytime.
