Lewis ran like a scared punk from Vitali, Vitali was a man on a mission who would have KTFO Lewis, Vitali was ahead on the scorecards, Lewis retired like a punk, Vitali and Wlad are ATG's......

"Lennox Lewis was a steroid abuser"

          wtf?

He got bigger as he grew older. That's what normally happens in life.

"Protect yourself at all times". These words are a reminder to all fans that boxing is as much about NOT GETTING HIT as the other way around. Vitali threw everything at Lewis and deserves enormous credit for doing so. He landed some huge bombs and dominated the early rounds. But he did NOT produce a great defensive display. Even when he was buzzing Lewis in the first couple of rounds he was wide open to all manner of counters, and as the fight drew on Lewis started hitting them. In putting every last fibre of his body to use attacking Lennox he completely forgot about PROTECTING HIMSELF.

Lewis did. Sure, he got caught with some mighty shots - but even at the end of the fight his face was in pretty good condition. When the damage began accumulating on Vitali, Lewis did what all great ring tacticians do: hit it more often, and harder. Vitali simply couldn't or wouldn't stop him. Which is the reason he lost. AND IT'S A DAMNED GOOD ONE, TOO! Because if we're saying boxing should only be about attack, Attack, ATTACK for twelve rounds with no consideration given to the finer arts and subtleties we might as well watch MMA or UFC or other such trash.

Lewis .....this is not a tough one to call!!.....Lewis's resume is sick!!!....EVERY dam HW that was relevant is on it!!.....he has beaten EVERYONE he's faced including Vitali......he revenged his only losses with KO's in the rematches!!.....he was the last HW to unify the titles!!!....2 Klitschko's don't match up to 1 Lewis when it comes to accomplishments in the ring!!!

I kind of guessed that. The point was really aimed at some of the loonier NSB elements that tend to haunt Vitali-Lennox threads.

I voted for Lewis originally, but I actually think that since his comeback, Vitaly is proving to be the more complete and intelligent fighter.

Winning on a dubious cut when behind on the cards is not sufficient to say Lewis> VK. He never gave VK a rematch, I think because Lewis knew he wouldn't be as lucky second time around.

Lewis was at his best in the 90's.
