    Ryder's a tough, game guy but he was thoroughly beaten and outclassed by a seemingly past-prime Canelo. I thought the same with the Jacobs fight but he did a little better, didn't take as much of a beating and I gave him a couple more rounds in that. He got the gift decision but that win is massively flattering considering no one really thought he won.

    I definitely wouldn't go as far as "world-class" but he's a tough guy with a lot of heart that can cause some problems for the top guys but ultimately will fall short.

        So this forgone conclusion that was a homecoming love fest for Canelo is over. The forgone conclusion that is a Bivol rematch at 175 is next sometime in September. Which means the two fights we are actually interested in seeing (Beterbiev-Bivol, Canelo-Benavidez) are basically non-starters for the foreseeable future.

        Man, it has to be 5 o'clock somewhere.....
