"Jaron Boots Ennis got more fights (31 bouts) than Errol Spence (28 bouts), the unified champion. He's beyond the stages of development...So at this point you gotta look at it like this: If this dude got 30 some fights with nobody of real significance..., then ask yourselves that's for a reason. That's not by mistake. At this point you could see that's for a reason. There's a reason why he got that many fights, and it's not really nobody. Like I said, he's beyond development stage..."
Confirmed: Boots ducked Mean Machine fight

No it's not. But we'll see who boots fights next. If it's a top ten opponent, it's not a big deal. If it's a lesser fighter, then it is.
Problem is, PBC has all of the damn welterweights and has them all sitting on their asses. It's pathetic.Comment

At this point fans probably don't care who he fights next as long as he keeps himself active. But then again being undefeated with that many fights, high risk/low reward fights are not the way to go. It's a difficult balancing act. But if I were in his team, I'd let him fight whoever is available, then move on with the next making the length of time between fights as short as possible. Right now they're taking too much time choosing which fight to take.Comment

I don't get why Ellis, who lost to Villa, has that kind of authority to stop such fight from happening. What am I missing?Comment

While I don't think Ennis is ducking anyone, he is wasting his career since Spence and Crawford have the division locked up. He should take a few fights at 154 to stay active and relevant.
I used to be all for unification bouts, but now days that just allows a division to stagnate.Comment

If it's true then I can't blame him. He is the mandatory challenger for Spence's IBF title; Pending this Crawford negotiation foolishness. His team would be a damned fool to risk that position for a high risk low reward fight against the "Green Machine"
Just offer them more money and I will bet you that his team would change their tune in a heart beatLast edited by champion4ever; 05-06-2023, 03:10 PM.Comment

I don't know what Stephen Espinoza of Showtime is doing. Comments like these should give anyone sense of urgency.Comment
