Why go to Europe? He skipped the bum of the month and went straight to fight guys, that other boxers would be fighting at their 15 or 20 fight. There's no going back, he would be the favorite against any 168lbs not call canelo or benavidez, and I bet you the odds wouldn't be wide. Who he's going to fight in Europe? The same boxers he has already fought in the USA. That was canelo's been doing, the tour of Britain.
Who do you think wins David Benavidez vs David Morrell?

A AVERAGE boxer with tons of experience who was tuff in his day can make a guy like Morrel look bad. YOU NEED EXPERIENCE against TOP ELITE BOXERS. You cant whip out your schlong and scare them no more. They’re not going to fold like what he’s gone through. Experience is very important when you play with the big boys

They're two big boys at 168lbs, him and benavidez. If they wait, one of them is moving up. The time is now and they are both in their prime, one loss is not going to ruined neither one of them. Besides, what elite boxers benavidez has fought? Please mention one, since you're talking "elite".

You’re kidding right?? Morell has NINE professional fights. Benavides has 27.They're two big boys at 168lbs, him and benavidez. If they wait, one of them is moving up. Yes, I know Morel has many amateur fights but he has never fought ANYONE close to Benividas ELITE abilities as a PROFESSIONAL.
I’m not saying I don’t want to see them fight. I just don’t think it’s a fair fight RIGHT NOW.Comment

I'm not kidding, do you know when benavidez started fighting the same opposition Morrell Jr has faced on nine fights? By his 14 or 15 fight, which means for the past 12/13 fights they're almost identical in opposition. Besides, nane one fighter that benavidez has faced with David Morell jr attributes and talent? Just one. The Cuban doesn't want to face boxers that he and everyone knows he's going to slaughter. With falcao was an unknown because his background, never been ko, an Olympic medallist with good boxing fundamentals. With Allen in his third fight and 12 rounder, we didn't know what to expect, an undefeated fighter with 22 wins and definitely 10 times more experience. Who came next? Henderson? A tough fighter with only one defeat, never been ko, then Aidos, the guy that gave Allen his first ko defeat, another undefeated fighter, young and on his prime. So, who do you think Morrell Jr should fight next, if not benavidez?

Hey, man, if Morell wants to face Benividas, more power to him. If we as as fans want to see that fight. That’s great but as a person who has been watching boxing since I was 5 years old and LOVES boxing NOT BOXERS. I’m just saying it’s too soon for Morell to face the number 1 & 2 boxers at that weight. He should try GGG, boo-boo, Charla, Canelo first. I don’t recommend Canelo either but I feel he is slipping but he can still whip Morell.

I respect your opinion. I don't know how old you're, and is good that you are a fan ftom so early in your life, just like my self, I like the boxer, but I'm a boxing fan first, and my opinion is that he's ready to face either one of them, been canelo or benavidez. I think benavidez would be a harder fight for Morrell Jr than canelo. I'm from another time in boxing. Been following boxing for over 62 years. Every good to elite boxer has always faced the weak opposition of the month, but the "0" back then wasn't as cherished as it's now. I ask you a question, that every person that's against this fight or dismissing it, has failed to answer, although you did mentioned canelo, you know canelo is not facing Morell jr. So, if not benavidez in your opinion who he should be fighting next? A guy that can give him some trouble. Who? Be safe.

Hopefully Canelo will fight Morrell. I think Canelo will fight him cause he’s not Mexican. I know many people here don’t get it.

I believe he wants more Mexican boxers to be champions. I think he wants to leave boxing with Benividas as an undefeated champion. Canelo is not a natural 168 pound boxer. He’s at the end of his career and he knows it. I believe he’s getting bored with boxing.
I think Benividas is a good fighter but he’s no Calzaghe, RJJ, Hopkins, Ward or even Kovalev.Last edited by MONGOOSE66; 05-04-2023, 01:46 PM.Comment

First, benavidez is not Mexican, he only said that when he started his 168lbs campaign and benavidez was one of the champs, he definitely doesn't want to face the Mexican/Dominican/Ecuadorian benavidez. And talking about his weight, canelo's, he looks very comfortable to me, actually when he he was fighting at 155, he will weight well over 166lbs at fight night, and he was 21/23yo. I think he at his most optimal weight. 175 is a little bit of a stretch, he doesn't have the Dwight Muhammad Qawi frame, he's thick, not that thick, he thought because he beat up a past his prime drunken, over trained(he had a few weeks before a complete camp, with a 12 round grueling fight)kovalev, that he could do the same to everyone there, maybe 175 was his way out of a benavidez fight. Be safe Archie Moore
