I think Loma has more on the line than Haney so he must be prepared to take risks early and leave it all in the ring unlike in the fight vs Teo. It might be his last chance to regain his belts

Also, quit with the prefight excuses already. Grappling is part of boxing. Most of you liked it when Wladimir Klitschko did it. However, when it comes to Devin all of a sudden you guys want to raise the bar.

When Loma loses to Devin; It's not gonna be due to age, the referee, Haney's size or his hugging. It's gonna be because he just didn't try hard enough. Historically that has always been the problem with Haney's opponents.

They are just not willing to mix it up enough with him by letting their hands go. Devin often neutralizes their offense with his jab. It often paralyzes his opponents.

One is going to have to take several risks and make it a firefight in order to defeat Devin Haney and not make it some tactical and scientific boxing match.

Loma can use all the angles, feints and footwork he wants but if doesn't throw enough punches then he is not winning this fight.
Here you go, with this myth that Lomachenko doesn't throw punches. And your evidence is a fight where he had a torn shoulder...Maybe watch his last fight.

No doubt, he will do better than "Cryin Ryan". However, I just don't expect Loma to win. I got Haney winning this fight by way of a decision victory. Hi-Tech would have to work at least twice as hard in order to defeat Devin.

He must find a way to get Haney out of his comfort zone which is a very difficult thing to do. Devin is a master at dictating both the distance, range, pace and tempo to all of his fights.

So hard that JoJo did it over and over.

                Interesting topic.

Really what it will boil down to, and no one has mentioned it yet from what I saw... is if Loma is going to try and mail it in like always or if he will actually show up to fight.

He always starts slow and tries to overwhelm his opponent. Almost think of it like Joe Joyce....

If Devin Huggies Haney comes out there aggressive in the first few rounds, he might break Loma just like Teo did. I mean, Loma is still delusional and does not think he lost to Teo when in reality, it was not that Teo won, but Loma lost by sitting on his ass for half the fight.

I am a big Loma fan, but he is not in a division where he is the biggest and fastest anymore. And now add in father time and all the political pressures he is feeling from Klitchkos for not being "Ukranian enough..." So this really just may be his "cash out" fight. If it draws enough, he may run it a second time but I really think Loma is past this now and should get this retirement check and sit on his ass.

JoJo was only able to do it in spurts. I believe many of you are underestimating Haney’s punching power.

It’s a reason why his opponents never bum rush him. Instead they opt to try to beat Devin at his own game from the outside which is not an easy thing to do.

That's more of a recent trend, he used to come out firing. Most great fighters take a round or so before they start doing hat they do. He can't sit around for 4-5 rounds before he gets off or he loses by UD handily. I don't think he will hesitate to get his work started though in this one. He already said this is the biggest fight for him in his career so if he doesn't come to throw early and often then he's done at the top level and he knows it.

He got started fairly quickly against Nakatani, Commey, and Ortiz. Hopefully won't be an issue.
