Really don't think it's as simple as jab and pivot. Besides, JoJo just walked Haney down. Nothing fancy. Why can't Loma? The problem Loma has is that his style Is heavily reliant on switching angles fast. That can be pretty much negated when the opponent has a long jab and a good pivot to keep you on the end of the jab while you switch angle
Teofimo did it very well v Loma. Loma only had success when Lopez got away from the jab and pivot. Lopez got back on that towards the very end of the fight and Loma struggled again.
That says 2 things. One being theres a definite way to negate Loma's angles, which Haney has the tools to do the above. And the other is Loma obviously hasn't shown a great plan B if that happens.
I'd like to see Loma do it though, and I'll never write him off. Plus i dont rate Haney as high as some. But I can't help but thinking its a young v old man, the younger having all the physical advantages and tools to use a game plan that the old man struggled with before.Comment

Lomachenko needs to hit the body early and often. He needs to be prepared for jab and grab all night. Haney will go into his wide stance, throw a couple of potshots and grab. Loma needs to expect this the whole fight. It's what he should be training for. Not even so much inside fighting, but setting up traps and retreating to avoid the grab. Backstep uppercuts.
Folks think he needs to train coming in due to size advantage, IMO he needs to flow between offense and defense. Lots of little retreats to force Haney to come in. Haney is longer with a decent jab, and Loma has a terrible tendency of getting reset if he gets jabbed. It throws him out of rhythm.
If Loma starts complaining about clinches in 2nd round, he's not ready for this fight and has no chance. If he stays composed, he has a good chance. Haney is much bigger than him, but his weight cut gotta be hurting him. It's why he's not a KO machine. Loma can't be afraid of the power, and he needs to goto the body from the very first round.
We'll see if Lomachenko has learned anything. He needs to expect a bigger, more skilled Orlando Salido type fight. He seemed to figure Salido out, but a little late. He figured out Lopez, but again a little too late. Will he take too long to figure out Haney ?Comment

This fight could eclipse all the other boxing events that happened thus far. Because it appears whoever wins will be taken as an upset victory as both are considered underdogs or favored to win in their own characteristic ways.Comment
