cotto should not have a loss on his record, everyone knows margarito loaded his gloves, if you honestly believe that marg did not load his gloves, you are either brain dead, love marg, or hate cotto. maybe a combo of all three? so we can consider cotto undefeated. remember cotto was whooping up on marg pretty bad, but those plaster shots hurt!
as for the clottey fight, cotto fought the entire thing with a huge cut - just that alone makes the fight a nightmare, not only that but you have to fight clottey too?! clottey is a legit top WW, and i wont be surprised if he beats shane (they are still going to fight? or is it berto now, thats a floppy situation)
taking all of that in, cotto is better than anyone that mayweather has faced, including corrales (although its debatable at least), hatton (not debatable), and definitely better than past prime de la hoya (definitely not debatable). floyd beat de la hoya, but it was barely convincing, it was a boring fight which floyd didnt really show off anything good in. at least pacquiao destroyed DLH when he was supposed to LOSE. although no one knew DLH was going to weigh less than pacquiao haha.
as for pacs biggest win - idk, 28 year old barrera was a pretty frickin great win, if you ask me, 28 years is usually the prime stage of non heavyweight fighters, but did barrera pass up his prime early? its debatable. its hard to see even a prime barrera doing anything against pac.
now looking at the big picture - cotto may be (i feel it is, but corrales is debatable) better than anything on floyds resume, but we must keep in mind resumes do not determine who is better. kelly pavlik went from relatively unknown to knocking out (both highly regarded at the time) miranda and taylor. taylor had the W from bernard hopkins on his resume, and most sane boxing fans agree that bernard is definitely among the best in boxing both present and all time.
simply put, we wont know who will win out of may and pac until they get in the ring and settle it.
up to this point, who has been the more impressive fighter? its debatable, but youd surely have to be crazy to say mayweather is funner to watch.Comment

why is that crazy. When people get older they gain weight. they can try to stay at the weight but they get weight drained or they lose there speed. As soon as Pac fights someone of color then holler at me Maybe Mayweather, Mosley, Bradley even a kendall Holt. This is called good match making for some people to me its ducking the real athletic fighters whom can match you in speed and or in your weight class. Weight class being Bradley, Holt, Torress, Campbell, Peterson and even a Corley.Comment

If Pac's achievment was not crazy...then why are there not many 6 weight division champions? The fact that all boxers come up in weight as they get old is not the issue here......it's collecting lineal belts while jumping up in weights.

Cotto's best weight is 154...It got to the point he was killing himself to make 147...I cannot believe everyone thinks this is an even fight, when Cotto has to come in at 144...WOW!

1. oscar was not the lineal champion at 154 when floyd fought him.
2. that gloves thing is bogus. oscar didn't make floyd wear heavier gloves. that was nsac regulations. in fact at the time i think even 147 guys were required to wear 10 ounce gloves. they didn't change it to 8 for 147 'til recently. don't believe everything you hear from floyd's mouth.
3. you act like pacquiao had any choice in matters when he fought barrera. he was just brought in as a tuneup. everything was of barrera's choosing.

yes because hes fighting a real welterweight and a welterweight that's in his prime....cotto is a great fighter and i think that after he lost to margarito alot of people have forgot that he's a great fighter.....i think that cotto will stop paquiao but if paquiao beats cotto there is no dought whos the best fighter in the world pound for pound. FOR THE RECORD I THINK THAT MANNY PAQUIAO IS THE BEST POUND FOR POUND IN THE WORLD....Comment
