If Pacquiao beats Cotto, is it a bigger accomplishment then anything Floyd has done?

To Mr. Pink..... i strongly disagree with your views.

P4P and ATG -wise, MAB is ahead of Cotto. But tell me this, Head to Head, will you take the Peak MAB over Cotto of today? NEVER. MAB, as skilled as he was, has less than 10% chance of beating Cotto.

We are getting carried away. With the thigns PAC has done, people seems to think it's so easy to move up in weight at a very short time. I thought what happened to Marquez will brought home how difficult it is to go up multiple weights and carry your attributes that makes you successful in the lower weight class.

This will be his biggest win, especially since his closest rival ATG-wise, who has been fighting at WW for nearly half a decade now, refused to make this fight when it was the hottest fight there is.
i disagree. you can't look at it as who would win barrera vs. cotto.

even with a win over cotto i think barrera will still be pac's greatest win.

put it this way......pac is actually favored to win against cotto. pac was a heavy underdog against barrera.

that's the difference of expert's perception of these 2 fights.

No as I've said, ATG wise MAB is ahead of Cotto, but tell me how much of a physical handicap PAC has against Cotto and how much against MAB?

The thing is jumping weights seems to be taken for granted these days. For a jump in two divisions that is fine, but three, four.......???

There comes a point when physical advantages outweight skill advantages. Case point.....

Pac when he fought Mab was pretty green but he was able to overcome MAB's skills and experience coz he has physical advantages to overcome those attributes. Will a raw Pac be able to beat Cotto? No.

The reason he will be competitive and could possibly win is that along with his athletecism, he has improved his skills beyond what he initially have during the Mab fight. Coz no Matter how you look at it, Cotto is fundamentally sound and not so far against MAB in terms of skill. While he could take MAB with his physically attribute, he must possess more than that to win against Cotto. This is his test at a highest level, and though MAB is a greater fighter, Cotto is truly a greater test for PAC's skills, athleticism and will.

Yeah and Pac's win over MAB made him a P4P fighter.........but his win (if) against Cotto determines his ATG status. That's how experts will view this fight.

you make some good points but i'll still go with barrera personally.

in my defense , though i think cotto is good , i don't rate him as highly as most seem to. i consider cotto good with a good resume but nothing special.

tbh i think cotto might be the only top 147 fighter that pacquiao could beat.

maybe if pac hadn't fought at 147 before and looked so good there (even against a past it delahoya) or handled hatton so easily at 140.

Pacquiao is already an ATG but his future fights will determine whether he's placed in the top 50 or top 20, 10, or even 5, seeing he's almost ready to retire.
