how did floyd get the number one spot originally?

Sure he could, Floyd could retire without Pacquiao... but they shouldn't, if Pacquiao beats Cotto... its the biggest fight out there, I honestly think it could do better numbers than DLH vs Floyd (and you gotta bare in mind we are in a recession)... might sound a little too far but I honestly don't think it is impossible., so why not get it on... prove to us who the best of the generation is.

yeah don't be a stepping stone for others like ,morales, barrera,de la hoya.
thats good thinkinng.but he should atleast fight one more black so they can't say he wouldn't fight blacks.holt or bradley would be good .not mayweather cause he should fight cotto win or lose.

Pacquiao is #1 right now... Floyd is #2... he can't just take that spot without beating Pacquiao or Pacquiao losing.

I don't think he said they will not fight Floyd but it was around the negotiations.
Asking for 60% is not exactly punking out.
            Manny can get 60/40 anywhere.
Floyd can get 60/40 just about anywhere with true WW but he won't entertain those.

Why are you guys so upset about a smaller guy "maybe" not wanting to fight a bigger guy anyway?

This fight not being made would be an absolute disgrace, symbolising everything that is wrong with the sport.

The best two fighters, close enough in size and weight for it to be an issue, young enough for neither to be declared shot or past prime,.....not fighting in what would be the fight that could propel boxing into the mainstream again, would be a serious **** up.

This has got to be made. Simple as that.

That's the key. Will he explore those options?

pac won't get by cotto but he and roachy are seriously ducking the mayweather fight. they saw pbf spank jmm easily. they also know that pac had alot od problems with jmm.that said. there is a big difference between marquez countering and mayweather. pbf will beat the **** out of pac.

I've said before I'll say it again: This fight ant happening anytime soon...Maybe even never... Which I can care less. Ant no use trying to beat a dead horse with a stick in trying to make a fight with Floyd; when he's going to want everything at his conveniences and so fourth. To be honest I'd take a SSM Vs Manny Pacquiao fight over Floyd anyway's... This fights much easier to make and a lot less headaches. So either way Pacquiao could easily fight Mosely if worse comes to worse, and there ant no shame in taking on Mosely who is equally as tough -- an a fighter that as of right now, Floyd wants no part of. All this assuming he gets by Cotto first.

Or the other option: Manny can retire and still be consider an ATG. Either way he chops it, he's in a win, win situation.
