The only Lightweight that I could see conclusively outboxing Tank is Shakur Stevenson. Tank doesn’t like to initiate, he likes to set traps and he likes to use your own aggression against you. He couldn’t sit on the back foot against Stevenson, Shakur is far too smart to fall into those traps. He’d just touch Tank from range and pile up the points on the cards. Tank would have to press the action against Shakur. Best fight in the division for me.
100%...Tank is a superb fighter which is why he's an undefeated 3 weight champion with a 93% KO ratio which is unheard of. Also, like you mentioned, he has a very high ring IQ and is underrated technically. Shakur is probably the ONLY fighter in the division who gives him serious problems AND probably beats him. However, this fight has a high probability of never being made to protect both fighter's records just like Spence-Crawford, Fury-usyk, Bivol-Beterbiev etc.

This is why his career is being carefully managed. It's the Mayweather blue-print...hype up marginal opponents as being better than they truly are (Ryan), catch fighters on their way up or on their way down, drain them down, etc. Tank doesn't want any part of a prime boxer, and I suspect he won't be in a hurry to fight Haney, Shakur or even Loma any time soon. He may not even fight for the remainder of 2023. He's going to wait out the rest of the top tier fighters at 135 and let them eliminate one another the same way Floyd did.

Yeah should be some great fights coming up, I kinda think you gunna need a Mayweather type guy to beat Davis, that's why I like Shakur he has the same type of talent as Floyd had , something about Haney Im not convinced about but he is right in the mix also. The LW division looking good.

Yeah I agree unfortunately, it’s gonna be the Crawford vs Spence of this generation.

I think they’ll all avoid Shakur tbh. The risk vs reward just doesn’t add up.

Tank gets outboxed all the time, but he's good at landing those counters from the right angle, and his power certainly seems to be on another level. He only landed 4 shots in round 2 while getting touched up, and still scored a KD with one of those shots. That's the x-factor that makes him fun to watch. And he can do it with either hand from all kinds of angles, unlike, say, Deontay Wilder.

I think Shakur and Loma would both outbox him all night long, until he landed a clean counter. The question is if anyone can take his power around his weight classes.

how can you be a superb fighter if you have never beaten a top 5 opponent? this is like the eye test times a million. he looks superb without ever proving it i suppose.

also if you care about belts which you prob shouldnt. tank never won legit belts at 135 or 140. haney has the real wba at 135 and taylor had it when tank "won" his wba belt against barrio at 140. calling him a 3 weight champion is just tank propaganda even though its not hard to legitimately become a 3 weight champion the way politics works(broner did it lmao), he didnt even do that. he cherry picked 2 interim wba belts so he could claim 3 weight champ status. if he had beaten a haney or josh taylor to win them then he would be a diferent fighter. a real fighter you might say. he went after the easy fish but he wants the same accolades as doing it hte hard way. he didnt. he did it the very very easy way. a true coward you might say

He is carefully managed. I can see him losing to Haney, Stevenson, Loma.

There is a reason this guy fought for secondary belts only over 130.

lomachenko was wba champ when tank "won" his 135 belt against frickin gamboa

josh taylor was wba champ when tank "won" his 140 belt against frickin barrios

tank the puppet and tanks puppet handlers go around calling him a 3 weight world champ but this was how it was done. completely manufactured

bonus tank drag- the 130 belt he won against pedraza was the easiest belt there and pedraza had recently been gifted a win over edner cherry. they knew what they were doing. they arent just getting their feet wet and then moving on to better opponents. they pick easy opponents, then pick more easy opponents. its been 6 and a half years...oh hes not ready yet!

He wasn't being outboxed by Ryan, Tank was winning the rounds.

Ryan won one round maybe 2.

it was round 1 when Tank was feeling it out

after seeing how both guys ko I thought Ryan is screwed if he doesn’t have a good jab VS Tank
