I'd beg to differ. I think the consensus majority favor Tank to win this fight. The fact that there are stipulations in place such as Tank's rematch option, catchweight, AND a rehydration clause means there is going to be an absolute circus in the media aftermath if Tank gets sparked.
I've always thought Tank would come out on top, and I WANT him to come out on top, but all those clauses almost makes me want to root for Garcia...almost.
Either way, should be fun while it lasts regardless. If Garcia just happens to win, then so be it. We get an immediate rematch and a potential trilogy.
In the long run (5-7 years down the line), I can't see Tank remaining the huge star Showtime would like him to be. He's pretty small and I don't think his style will transfer as effectively as he moves up in weight. His power is frightful for 130-135...but he always has to take a little damage in the initial rounds to get cooking...Haney and Stevenson would give him fits. But who knows, right? Ryan (with the way he carries himself, his frame, and especially his very young age) looks to be able to have an edge over Tank in terms of potential popularity growth, moving up in weight, and actually bringing a **** ton of new fans to the sport. Unfortunately, I don't think it's in the cards, but I will NOT be salty if he pulls this off.
I'm just rambling here, it feels like Christmas to me today. Can't wait for tonight...

I strongly doubt Tank goes past 140. He seems to have his weight issues better in check than he used to.
I mean we saw Lemieux and Jacobs basically say screw the hydration clause and bloated in their fights. So if Oscar is really worried, tell Ryan to do whatever and foot that bill to regain this mythical advantage.
At Ryan's age, I simply don't see the clause having that much effect on him. It's easier to manage when you're younger and he certainly was not lacking for energy a day before the fight. Plus he fought at 135 before. It's not like he went to 147 trying to come down like Broner.

True. In Ryan's shoes, I'd probably just foot the bill if required and damned be the rest. Ryan being that young I don't think it'll affect him.

You simply don't see the clause having that much effect on him because that isn't what you want to see.
and for the record, Jacobs didn't just say "screw the hydration clause" he had to work within a budget. If the Jacobs who fought Golovkin showed up, it may have been a different fight, we'll never know.
