What does elite mean? He beat Joyce, so Zhang a top 5 heavyweight. Zhang could have a better resume than he already has but nobody fights each other.

I could be rich and good looking. The point is I am not. The point is Zhang beat one person in his career and that is Joyce. You don't beat one fighter who isn't that good and become elite. Also if you think Zhang has a good resume then I feel sorry for you kid. This is why little kids shouldn't be allowed to make post here.

I think really a fighter can only be deemed elite when they are World Champions, or they have been World Champions 'But have achieved some solid comeback wins'.

Anthony Joshua & Deontay Wilder are no longer elite level fighters but they are both working their way back towards this level 'I would rate them both as High End World level fighters'.

Joshua & Wilder are still on merit in the top 4-5 most highly rated Heavyweights in the division. If they where to achieve another top-level win, this may be enough once again to rate them as elite level fighters.

Elite level > High End World Level > World Level > European Level, Commonwealth or Top American Level > Domestic National Level.

Note: I suppose everyone has their own rating system, myself personally I understand the magnitude of what it means to be a elite level fighter 'I only really rate Tyson Fury & Usyk as the two definite elite level fighters at Heavyweight'.

Joshua & Wilder are the only two High End World level fighters for definite 'Then their seems to be a competitive following pack'.

Joyce, Hrgovic, Zhang, Dubois, Ruiz Junior. These are predominately the main fighters in the following pack threatening to attack the upper levels.

Note: I even have a rating above elite level, called 'Super elite'. There may be extremely long periods of time, when no fighters even reach this level. Usyk overall is a Super elite level fighter due to his accomplishments in the sport 'Usyk is the most accomplished active boxer in the sport' etc.

Zhang is almost 40 years old and his best win was against the 37 year old Joyce who also never did anything worth while as a pro (Besides beat a faded Joseph Parker and I never heard anybody say a prime Parker was good). Also if you want say Joe Frazier vs Ali was basically a bunch of hugging then that is exactly how Tyson Fury fights. He spends most of his fights hugging. Go back and watch that Frazier v Ali fight then tell me it a masterclass of boxing it's actually embarrassing people bigging them up so much only to watch that but whatever each to their own i respect Ali and Frazier a lot they did a lot for the sport but compared to todays fighters they are raw and not at the level of todays fighters.
