Come on man, get your timeline correct. If you were a big fan, you'd have to be aware of the problems he had with Universum and how they stifled any meaningful fights. By the time he had finally made his way over here in 2012, Pavlik had already had his last fight and was fighting at 168 (only fought champions at MW btw), Williams was paralyzed, Taylor was a shell of himself (we all know damn well he wouldn't have got credit for beating a faded Jermaine). How did he try to come into the picture in Cotto's last fights? Golovkin was established at MW by that point. No one forced Cotto into the MW division. Notice how he never called out Cotto until he won the belt. You can't expect a fighter to go into a new division and not be called out by another champion. Golovkin surely could have done more but don't rewrite history.

Did it ever consider to you that his promoter's in Germany Universum as well as his management team might be the ones steering his career (hence no Sturm fight which was an in house fight) rather than himself? Things are ever so basic in that dense head of yours aren't they?Comment

Jermaine Taylor at any point in his career would be by FAR the best win on Golovikins resume. I’m not blaming ggg for calling out cotto either. I’m dis*****g that some of the bums on here claim cotto and Martinez somehow ducked golovkin. Martinez was beating one of the great MW champions of my time kelly Pavlik and knocking Tf outta the guy people actually avoided.PWill paul Williams. Bumlovkin showed up like 2013/2014 and started saying everyone was ducking him lmao. As I said…the last fight or 2 of both of their careers. He fought bums like macklin and stevens on HBO saying everyone was ducking him but these guys were retired. He’s a sham wow. Best win is kell Brook. Who was 2 weights lower than him. Why didn’t he ever fight ward? Fight Kovalev? Charlo? He could’ve moved up at any time and taken a big fight he knows he’ll get the business he prefers beating up cab drivers for that matchroom monies

How is he going to take a "long hiatus" at 40+? Just retire already. Definitely some strange choices coming from that camp.Comment

Just having a name doesn't mean anything though. You have to look at where they are in their career. You can say that Cotto and Martinez didn't duck, but they weren't in a rush to fight him, or had more lucrative options. Golovkin came on the scene in September 2012 and let's be honest, he was never actually saying guys were ducking him. All of that was Abel. Macklin and Stevens were retired? Not sure who you're referring to there. And no, his best win officially is probably Jacobs. Should it have been Canelo? Yes but of course he never got the win on paper. The Ward debate has been done to death. **** wasn't viable once Ward came back, unless you meant earlier, so when exactly? Kovalev? You expect him just to jump up 2 divisions randomly when he's making a name for himself at MW and when it looks like a Canelo fight is on the horizon (easier to look back in hindsight, we weren't expecting the Canelo fight to first happen in 2017)? Charlo? Eh, possibly. Don't know when exactly that would've happened though. You can't blame Golovkin for signing the deal with DAZN and from what we've seen, Jermall seems to bark louder than he bites.

OK. You just said Canelo lost the first fight against GGG. Then you say GGG doesn't have one elite career win. GGG easily won the first and barely won the second Alvarez fight, the second one could be seen as a draw, but no way Alvarez won. Had the decisions been correct, Alvarez loses stature and GGG gains it, period.
Lmao he was never robbed. 1st decision was bad but he let canelo back into the fight by winning the last 4 rounds. A draw was the best possible decision for canelo and he got lucky and it turned out that way. I thought ggg won the 1st fight 115-113. Canelo won’t the next 2 in a landslide those fights weren’t close. That just goes to tell u overated GGG is/was. He fought canelo who started at 140 as his greatest career opponent and went 0-2-1 against him. He doesn’t have another elite name on his resume. He’s been ducking charlo for years. Sergei dervychenko beat him down. He’s a one weight champ who refused to fight top competition in his one division and refused to move into any other division because he would get destroyed. Ward kovalev morrel benevidez even plant would school him. The myth of little g is hilarious. He literally doesn’t have one elite career win. Not one.
GGG destroyed good fighters. Canelo ducked and aged GGG for years, then he fought GGG to not lose, all three fights, he was terrified of what was coming back. GGG's power is elite.
No he didn't fight all the fighters I'd have liked to see him fight. But he was a KO artist and a great fighter.Comment

There are literally thousands people who would take $2 million to be a gatekeeper ... in any division. His ego (and team) have failed him completely. In a few years he will be searching high and low to find a way to get a $2 million paycheck. Like the rest of us!Comment

Well he doesn’t have one elite win. Say ODLH who was robbed against my fave all time fighter tito trinidad in a MUCH worse decision the ggg/canelo 1. Somewhat similar tho. The difference? ODLH has so many elite wins because he fought so many elite fighters through multiple weigh classes bumlovkin is a can crusher. I don’t know how even his own fans don’t see that. His whole career is based on whether he did or did not beat canelo in fheir 1st fight. Even if it’s a robbery and we know it and he has one close points win over Alvarez does that legitimize him? People say Lara beat him people said trout beat him. It’s one fight. What else u got
