Nah man, Marquez got beat pretty bad. He barely landed and PBF landed what 60%? It was a blowout, but at least Marquez never gave up. I mean he wasn't taking THAT much punishment, but he got out boxed badly. He obviously couldn't handle that much extra weight.

I wont lie, I was pissed off at him during the fight. He should have just gone insane on the offensive when he got Mayweather to the ropes, but he never did!

just kept trying to play his counter game, which just isnt going to work against Mayweather...
That's what I think. Marquez to me really wasn't strong enough to force the fight in that way though, whenever he landed Mayweather took his punches with ease. The second round proved it when Marquez landed his best punch with Mayweather laughing it off and Mayweather landing his best punch with Marquez landing on the canvas.

I guess I could see it being called a shut-out on the cards but I don't really think of it as a "shut-out", because Marquez never stopped trying and always made sure to come back with his own punches even if he did not land many of them. A shut-out to me is like Hopkins's fight against Pavlik when Pavlik simply stopped trying and was practically "shut out", to the point where he was unable to even get off any punches.

With all due respect, sir, the mexican gave Floyd zero trouble and got dominated. Floyd won all 12 rounds. And every minute of all 12 rounds.

The ref was checking on the mexican after round six.

Eric was screaming at Nacho to stop the fight.

before the final two rounds, Nacho told the mexican to 'finish with dignity"

Have to disagree, I aint really a Floyd fan but he did pitch the perfect game.
It was a clinical one sided performance, I'm a big Marquez fan and I didn't see one round close enough to give to him.

Take away the knock down and Mayweather really didn't do **** to Marquez. I'm not saying Marquez won but it's utter BS seeing all these people going on like he was dominated. Marquez gave him a lot of trouble, even being the smaller blown up man. Mayweather looked like he didn't know what to do against Marquez so he resorted to jabbing, hence not being able to knock Marquez out.

The same garbage was happening in the Cotto vs Margarito fight, I bet Cotto would have won that fight had he not been stopped (by robbery). Margarito was visibly busting Cotto up from round 2 and on, yet the Letterman card was even up untill the 9th or 10th round (or something like that). WTF?

I shut the volume off the JMM vs Mayweather fight and i'm seeing the same thing, a competitive fight, Marquez landing less, throwing more but getting some hard shots in. He lost a decision, i'm not dis*****g that - but no way in hell was he dominated, he put up a good fight.

I think this is why Mayweather kept saying "I felt a bit rusty" or "I can still improve" it's because he felt like he was having trouble with Marquez.

One last thing, when a fighter "smiles" after getting hit, it usually means it hurt. For some ****** ass reason the commentators are acting like Mayweather is just joking around. Marquez said so himself after the fight "I know he felt my punches".

anyways, for those of you who actually read all this I thank you, I expect the typical meat head responses to call me a Marquez nuthugger who's crying over spilled milk. I had Mayweather winning - but not by domination.
I never saw the fight but from what ive read PBF won easily. But i did hear JMM say he hit PBF and that he got PBFs attention. So PBF does get hit, but without a microphone on the punches we dont know how hard the punches he is taking.
BUt JMM did confess that he lost convincinly to give PBF his dues.

Marquez looked pretty good despite his age and moving up in weight against a much bigger opponent. I thought he was the aggresor and won more and had won more rounds. I thought Juan Diaz gave him more trouble, but he didn't show much defense and can take a punch as good as other boxers can.

They just wanted the fight to look bigger for Mayweathers comeback. If the mexican fans weren't into this fight it would be just another boring fight.

I give Marquez credit for finishing on his feet like a true warrior and if you're really trying, you could maybe give him one round. He didn't do terrible considering what he was up against however. He had zero advantages, except for Floyd's layoff which didn't bother Floyd at all. He clearly lost and IMO was dominated by Mayweather.

I think if it was another fighter in there in place of Juanita, like PAC, I think Floyd's ring rust would've shown, I don't think he's all that rusty, but the style of Marquez helped "hide that rust"

Dominated indeed. THere was really no chance for Marquez to win. Everything was stacked against him, that being said... i think Jim, Max, and Emanual were just calling it as they saw it. Nothing personal... but if they seen Marquez getting pounded on(which he was) then thats what they threw out there.

On a side note, Larry is ****ing done man. He's been around forever but sometimes this guy says some of the dumbest things ever. Half the time, he makes no sense. same thing with Lennox... Please! dont have Lennox commentate anymore. Larry is an icon and although he sucks at commentating he's as much a part of the team as Jim, but Lennox... in the words of Roberto Duran "No mas!!"
