There were fights that failed to make it on Showtime. What could be the reason? Money. Ruiz vs Wilder. Spence vs Crawford. Even Jake Paul's last fight had to be held in Saudi Arabia.

This Board is wild as fuc...I just don't understand why Canelo is the one that needs to fight everybody. He's the A side, they tend to have their pick of the litter. Floyd did the same for years and I don't remember this much outcry. Canelo will make those fights on his schedule which he already put out there: Ryder, Bivol, that's 2023 already. Knowing that why aren't folks clamoring for Charlo or Benavidez to fight each other or fight a Morell or even venture north and get a challenge. I just don't get the infatuation with Canelo, oh I get it, its Payday. Same reason Charlo is pissing his career away to get a Canelo fight after all it worked for Caleb Plant. If in 2024, Canelo doesn't fight him, then I 'll understand the outrage afterward Benavidez is still the younger fighter.

agree with you that he’s a law unto himself when it comes to mandatories. However you’re talking nearly 5 years ago now. He unified 168 that was his mission. Bar Yildrim who admittedly was lame, he just gathered belts at 168 then had an unsuccessful campaign at 175 but let’s face it he’s too small for 175 and it showed. But there wasn’t really a duck in there. How can you say someone who’s fought Mayweather, Cotto, Moseley, Golovkin etc etc ducks people? Charlo had fought no one and brought nothing to the table. Dazn outbid Haymon and Canelo wanted the belts that’s the truth of the matter.

He proved he was "too small for 175" when he lost to the smallest man in the division? Someone who is smaller than Plant, Benavidez and Smith?

It wasn't quite 10, but it was a long time, from 154 to 160. Now that he's been inactive for 2 years and trying to recover from life issues, he's giving off cherry vibes, and Reynoso and Cinnabon can smell a sweet cherry from deep inside Mexico.

you’re missing some context. When Benavidez was a champion at 168, canelo expressed no desire to fight him. He fought fielding, when covid shut down fights for may of 2020, canelo was only negotiating with Saunders and smith, never Benavidez. But the second Benavidez got stripped later that year, Canelo petitioned for his wbc title just 3 days later. Coincidence? When canelo was at 160, he never expressed any desire to be undisputed. There was a black mandatory in charlo at the time and another black world champion with the 1 title he needed in Andrade. You think it’s another coincidence that he then decided 168 was the best way to go where there were 2 white British champs, another white boxer in plant and a low level euro mandatory in Yidilgrim ? Seems like more than a coincidence, wouldn’t you say?

If Charlo and Andrade looked poor in fights and were willing to be sabotaged before getting into the ring, then they would have got the fight with Canelo. Canelo is opportunistic. Whoever finds themselves in difficulties, Canelo will be there sniffing around. But not until. He never fights them at their best.
