You are giving him every benefit of the doubt as a fan. He asked to be franchise knowing Haney was about to win the eliminator.
You are. For lacking clarity. Loma was promoted to Franchise. He didn't drop the belt persay. He took an upgrade to it. Regardless and this is the clarity portion. No mandatory was ordered. Why? Because Loma was eying the fourth belt. Rules state undisputed has precedence over any mando. A Mando was never ordered because it couldn't. Loma getting Franchise was not avoiding a Mando. A Mando could not be called.
Come on dude. Haney has done nothing but try to dight Loma as early as possible.Comment

So, you are saying that Loma ducked Haney before, but yet here he is fighting him when a lot of people apparently think that he's on the decline, while Haney seems to be settling into his prime. How does that make any sense?
All Haney has done is try to fight Loma as eay as possible. Loma did everything to move away from that fight.
This is going to be one of those cases where fans that dont like haney lower this win because Loma was old, but hold nothing against Loma for dropping the belt and avoiding him when he did.
Whose the real punk here?Comment

Ducking is a childish term. I didnt use it.
It makes perfect sense from a financial perspective.
Haney is no easy win like Crolla was. If he was, Loma wouldve dusted him off for a quick payday just as he did Crolla.
Had he fought Haney, hed risk losing and then losing the Teo payday without belts.
The war was unexpected. That is why Loma is so much older now. That isnt Haneys fault. He tried to fight Loma long before the war.
Haney has done everything we say we want boxers to do. Its fine if you like Loma more than him or are not a fan of Haneys at all.
But he isnt the reason for this.Comment

Well I guess we'll see who's the better fighter on May 20th...

How is it revisionist? It's just the facts. Loma fought a unification against a more credible opponent. That fight was for the #1 spot in the division. Haney was a completely unproven nobody at that point. You're not fooling anybody with your revisionist bs.
That is revisionist. He dropped the belt to avoid having to make the mando against Haney because a loss wouldve meant no Teo unification.
Now he’s fighting Haney because he lost to Teo unexpectedly and then the war happened. In the interim, Haney got all the belts. So he cant avoid him anymore.Comment

Loma is forced to fight Haney now. It's the only way to undisputed. Back then loma could use the Haney is a nobody excuse that you just used.

People are putting Loma in a no win situation, if he would have fought and beat Haney before the Teo fight he would have been accused of taking advantage of a young green fighter.Comment
